Vytex Windows

Vytex windows are headquartered in Laurel, Maryland and will be available throughout the state through dealers and distributors. If you really want to see how their windows are made, you can visit the factory, but probably not necessary. Vytex is considered a good quality regional manufacturer, but not necessarily a top manufacturer such as Okna or Soft-Lite windows. The company manufactures 3 vinyl window models, including the Georgetown, Fortis and the Potomac-hp. The Fortis and Potomac-hp are both very made vinyl windows that have impressive performance numbers. Vytex probably makes a better overall window than Simonton, but should be priced a bit lower - so there can be some nice value there.

American Energy Master In Maryland

Dane, this is the company that I decided to use: American Energy Master Inc -

I have been in contact with the owner, Bob Timber, through email, on the phone, and in person. He has been professional and courteous in all forms of communication. He emails when he says he will and showed up on time for our in-person appointment. He seemed very thorough when taking the measurements, and did a good job explaining what windows we are getting and the features of those windows. Bob also let us know up front that there is about 100-day lead time for the production of the windows.

I am hoping that the installation goes as smoothly as the rest of the interactions have. It sounds like there will be a very noticeable improvement once the installation is complete.

Thanks again for the guidance. I will keep you updated on how the installation goes and if the communication stays at the level it is now.

Baltimore Maryland Window Options

Good Morning, I wondered if you could recommend a good replacement window company/brand for a 100 year old house in the Baltimore Maryland area. I need to replace at least 14 windows.

What kind of replacement windows would you recommend that are of good quality, provide as much light as possible and that don’t break the bank? I have priced the wood clad windows from Marvin and Pella and simply cannot afford them. I have also priced Wi vinyl windows through National Lumber and they too were very expensive. Also just to come out to install has a $1,000. overhead fee. So if I only do 4 windows at a year, it would be an extra $4,000 over 4 years just to come out—not including installation and the window itself. Seems a bit expensive to me.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Replacement Window Recommendations In Baltimore, Maryland

Hi Tim, we have been in the market for a while now for replacement windows for our sun room. We live in Baltimore, Md and our neighbor just put in some MI replacement windows, I’m not sure what grade

I’ve been reading the reviews on your site and now have some real concerns about these windows

Our sunroom has 6 very tall ( 5’) windows that are about 22 1/2” wide; 3 along one wall, 2 on another and 1 single on the shortest wall!

We’ve lived in the house for 18 years and the current windows have gotten to be very drafty over time ( they are not the original windows, they’re vinyl replacements)

Our house was built in 1928, soils stone and stucco!

Any suggestions for a middle of the road replacement window?

We will probably be in the house for another 10 years maximum as I am 70 and my wife is 60!

Thanks for your recommendation!

Revere Windows Quote In Maryland

I am looking to replace my old vinyl sliding windows with the "Swing & Clean" easy clean variety. Just looking at Google, Revere showed up and their online brochure looked good, but some reviews on your site did not recommend that company. I am probably looking for a mid range manufacturer. I live in Maryland.

[Site Editor's Response]

Evie, Revere is not a bad window, but it wouldn't be at the top of my list either. Sometimes, I feel like that window is touted (by their reps) as the cream of the crop and priced out as such when really the window is more middle of the road. Of course, the company sells three models so it really depends on which series you are referring to.

I know Vytex makes windows in your area because they are headquartered in Maryland and their Potomac-hp is a very good performer. Simonton is a good mid range window manufacturer and their Impressions Series and Platinum Prism Series are quite nice. Finally, I know there are several reps who carry Sunrise in Maryland, which is one of my favorite vinyl manufacturers. Their standard window is a very good window and you can add any upgrades to the window that make sense and fit in your budget.

I would get bids from all three of these companies and see how their bids compare to your Revere window bid.
