Himark Windows Reviews
I live outside of Chicago and I need to replace my ugly windows and rotting patio doors. I looked into a ton of them, and ended up choosing Okna/Himarks. I ordered 12 of the Himark Enviro-Stars and 2 Elegante patio doors with low-e argon gas, dual glaze, Heatseal spacers and a bunch of other features. I like them a lot, they are supposed to be a good quality and the price was good.
Himark vs Other Brands
Sunrise, HiMark, Polaris, and Softlite are considered to be a kind of elite, status brand. I'm not sure if that means they are really better than the big players like Pella, Andersen, or Marvin. I think a lot depends on the dealer you get then from, since that determines some of your customer service. The dealers here that pushes Simontons is ok, and another one sells Alside plus a lot of others. I've dealt mostly with sells only Sunrise. They've been around a long time, and I have never had a problem with them, but not long ago they were bought by a new owner. I'm not sure how that's going to go. They people here who sell Himarks don't have much of a reputation, and the only place around here to get Alsides is a store that mainly deals in auto glass. With such limited options a lot of people go into the city to buy.
Himark vs Simonton 5500
My showroom has samples of the Simonton 5500 and the HiMark 800, and when you look at the two together the differences are clear. The 5500 is a good, solid window and it will work fine for most homes. The HiMark, though, is in a class by itself. It's truly a premium window, with a good build and nice look. Windows are expensive, so if it was me I'd buy the best I could afford. They'll last longer and give you fewer problems over the years.
Himark / Okna Connection
The HiMark is exactly the same as the Okna EnviroStar 800 series. They are identical, just like the Simonton Prism Platinum and the Reflection 6500 are the same. They just put different name tags on the same ones.
Himark & Harvey
I'm not sure about the prices I was given on these estimates. I need 21 windows with colonial grids, capped and everything. It's a lot of money and I want to make sure I get the best value. The estimates were for Harvey Classics at $550 each, Simonton 550s for $500, and two HiMarks, the DX400 for $585 and DX800 at $630. Which of these are better?
If I was picking from them I'd say the HiMarks are the best, the 800 beats the 400 but they both beat all the others. They're better as far as manufacturing and design, energy efficiency, appearance, everything. If you can't do one of those, the Simonton is better than the Harvey, but if you're going to be in the home a while get the HiMarks.

Himark vs Simonton
The HiMark is better than the Simonton as far as looks and appearance. If you want a premium window and aren't in love with the HiMark, then the Marvin Ultimate is a good option. The Imperial LS (Soft-Lite) are top tier, too, but they still aren't better than HiMark or Okna.
