Editor's SWS Duragard Window Review

The Duragard XT is a fully welded sash and frame that uses a high sill dam. The window uses some nice components and includes some decent features and parts.

Performance wise, consumers can expect the double hung with a low-e glass and argon fills to delvier a .29 U-Value, .54 visible light transmittance, .29 SHGC, & a DP40. All in all, not bad numbers, although I'd still like to know the air leakage data.

We have a pretty tough project on the horizon that involves sill work and 19 replacement windows. These are my bids.

Simonton 6500: $1,000 each

Simonton 6100: $780 each

Alside Mezzo: $442 each

[Site Editor's Answer]

Roy, the Alside Mezzo is the best deal of that bunch.
