I’m just in the initial stages so if you had a list of recommended companies, I would really appreciate it.
[Site Editor's Answer]Patrick, when it comes to a passive home, there are a couple of companies that come to mind. One is Zola, and they make very good windows that I believe qualify as a passive home option. The other company is Intus, and they make a passive home window as well. Will probably have to work with your builder to see how the ordering process works. Typically, it’s a little more expensive for the shipping, depending on where you were located. Neither of these companies has wide distribution so they will probably have to be custom ordered and custom shipped. These are the two companies I think of when I think of a passive home. Let me know what you find out because I would love to share that information with my users.
Zola Windows vs Intus and CometalI am building a passive house and we have bids from CoMetal, Zola, and Intus. We have thirty tilt turn windows and four large sliding doors - including one triple panel folding.
[Site Editor's Answer]Barry, I'd go with the Zola at the lower price point. I have heard good things about their windows and doors -- and they are the least expensive.
