Marvin Windows And Doors
Marvin is headquartered in Warroad, Minnesota, where they also operate a a manufacturing plant. The company manufactures three main window series, including the Integrity, Infinity and Ultimate Windows. The first two are fiberglass windows, while the Ultimate is a wood window with an aluminum exterior cladding.
Marvin gets some of the best and most consistent reviews from consumers and industry insiders on the quality and craftsmanship of their windows. This is not to say that there aren't customer complaints out there that have merit. However, any company that makes a million product per year is going to have some small degree of error.
All in all, Marvin a high quality manufacturer that sells relatively expensive windows. They will typically be on par with Andersen and Pella windows. Marvin Windows and Doors should be available in all 50 states to some degree. Their website does a good job of lettig consumers find a local rep who services their zip code.

Sunrise Windows
Sunrise (now owned by MI Windows) has at least one local dealer in Minnesota, although it isn't clear how wide the territory. Sunrise is considered a top tier vinyl window manufacturer by most contractors, consumers and industry insiders. The only exception to this rule is their entry level Essentials models.
The standard Sunrise frame is quite solid and their other upgraded models, including the Verde Vanguard and Restoration, all use this basic frame, along with some nice glass, component and part upgrades. Peter, that is a hefty price tag. I'd keep going on my search if I were you. Here are my Minnesota recommendations:
1. Marvin Windows And Doors are headquartered in Warroad, Minnesota, where they also operate a a manufacturing plant. The first two are fiberglass windows, while the Ultimate is a wood window with an aluminum exterior cladding. Not cheap, but a very good window.
2. Sunrise has at least one local dealer in Minnesota, although it isn't clear how wide the territory. The Sunrise standard or classic window is quite good and definitely a window I would recommend getting a bid on.
3. Soft-Lite has a few dealers in Minnesota from what I've heard. Their Classic and Pro series are quite good, while their Imperial LS and Elements are great window series.
4. Polaris Windows has a dealer in Minnesota. Their UltraWeld and ThermalWeld series are very good.
5. Finally Thermo-Tech makes a very good window and they are represented in Minnesota.
