Indow Inserts

Indow has certainly come up with a unique approach to storm inserts - read storm windows reviews to find additional companies and top brands. The biggest issue with inserts has always been how they look visually in the home, assuming an interior install. While many of the top companies do offer custom sizing, there are all sorts of issues with how well the insert will actually fit (mainly because older homes may not have perfectly square openings due to the home settling and shifting over time). Indow says they've solved this issue by having the local service rep laser measure each opening, which can account for any variation in the shape of the opening.

Indow Window inserts are priced perhaps 25% higher than comparable manufacturers, but they should provide a much better look and performance than other options. The company manufactures 7 products, which include their standard insert, an acoustic, shade, blackout, museum, commercial and privacy insert options. Inserts are definitely not for everyone, but they are a cost effective solution that should at least be considered.

Marvin Windows

Marvin Windows And Doors operates a manufacturing plant in Baker City, Oregon. The company manufactures three main window series, including the Integrity, Infinity and Ultimate Windows. The first two are fiberglass windows, while the Ultimate is a wood window with an aluminum exterior cladding. Marvin gets some of the best and most consistent reviews from consumers and industry insiders on the quality and craftsmanship of their windows. This is not to say that there aren't customer complaints out there that have merit. However, any company that makes a million product per year is going to have some small degree of error.

All in all, Marvin a high quality manufacturer that sells relatively expensive windows. They will typically be on par with Andersen and Pella windows. Marvin Windows and Doors should be available in all 50 states to some degree. Their website does a good job of lettig consumers find a local rep who services their zip code.

Jeld Wen Windows

Jeld Wen Windows And Doors is headquartered in Klamath Falls, Oregon and has been in business since the 1960s. JELD-WEN currently employs nearly 20,000 people in facilities and manufacturing plants that stretch across 20 countries.

Over the years, Jeld Wen has purchased the assets of a number of window companies, including Caradco, United Window, Norco, Pozzi and Summit, among others. In truth, Jeld Wen is known more for its high quality doors than its new construction and replacement windows. While their windows are not bad, they rarely make it onto contractor's list of top rated vinyl, wood or aluminum clad window manufacturers. Their high end window lines are often considered well made units.
