My Take On This Company: I'm not totally sure about HomeRite yet. I think I would get a bid, but I'm not sure I would pull the trigger for them. More of a filler bid.

The company has locations in three different states, including Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Florida. In PA, they have branches in Harrisburg and Waynesboro. In Florida, the company has a branch that services Jacksonville and the surrounding counties. Finally, in Maryland, HomeRite has a branch in Baltimore that services this metro region, as well as many of the surrounding counties.

HomeRite Warranty
The HomeRite warranty is easy to read and fairly straightforward (although I take exception to the transfer notification timeline). This is a lifetime warranty on the window frame, locks, balances, and all components. The insulated glass units are warranted for twenty years from the time of installation.
It also includes a 2 year labor provision. There is a transfer clause to a subsequent owner for 20 years from the install date (homeowners must notify the company in writing within 3 days). As with all warranties, they tend to change over time so please read the latest warranty (link here) for the most up to date terms, provision, and exceptions.

I have bids from Acadia Windows, as well as HomeRite picture windows - vinyl, low-e glass, and tempered glass. So, my question is this - if I want to compare these two bids, is it fair? Further, the HomeRite bid is $500 less. I would really appreciate any help you may be able to provide.

Florence, I'm not sure that either of these window brands would be my picks for top replacement options. I'll tell you what, I am going to send you my recommended list of windows and perhaps grab some more bids and then we can circle back and see what else you get.
