Majic Windows And Doors

Majic Window is a Michigan based company that has been in business since 1997. In addition to replacement windows, Majic also offers vinyl siding, walk in tub, and roofing installation. A quick history - from 1997 until 2008, Majic sold vinyl windows, at which time they transitioned to selling fiberglass. Today, the company has two factory locations, both in the state of Michigan. In addition to Michigan, Majic also markets their home improvement services throughout Ohio. Scroll down to read all of our Majic window reviews.

Overall Rating: Majic Windows gets a 3.9 out of 5 stars based on 7 consumer reviews below.

My Take On This Company: Majic is still a bit of a mystery to me. I'm always a bit hesitant to recommend companies that offer a multitude of home improvement services - I prefer those that focus on windows and doors and that's all that they do. Additionally, the overall quality of their fiberglass windows is still an unknown.

What They Sell

The company manufactures their own line of fiberglass windows (as opposed to buying them elsewhere and relabeling them). Majic makes several claims about themselves. One: that they sell more fiberglass windows than any company on the planet - which may be true but I think I might stick with Marvin fiberglass windows for now.

Their second claim is that they manufacture the most energy-efficient fiberglass window on the market. (Click for our picks on the best fiberglass windows on the market.) I can’t image in that Majic beats out Alpen HPP or Inline, but again I can’t be sure of this.

Majic Windows Warranty

Majic fiberglass windows come with a 50 year warranty on mainframe, hardware and components. Specifically, the company warrants against manufacturing defects. My assumption is that the labor warranty also extends to the original buyer, but this is not specifically stated. As to its transferability, this is still an open question for me. Unfortunately, he website does not contain much information on the warranty specifics. When (and if) I get this information, I will be sure to update this section of the site detailing Majic windows reviews.

Fiberglass Or Vinyl Question

Hi Dane, we have 34 wood windows 35 years old that need to be replaced and are open to fiberglass or vinyl windows. We are looking for more narrow lines enjoying more glass and are still energy efficient. Also, we have looked at Sunrise, Majic, Marvin and Simonton. However, we decided against Sunrise as we did not care for the new black spacers in their windows and Majic's windows did not impress compare with the Marvin fiberglass windows. So now we are looking at Marvin Essential and the Simonton 6500. The prices are huge difference.

Prices for our final two options as follows: Marvin Essential fiberglass windows - $48,000. Simonton 6500 - Vinyl -$26,000 at WW. As you can see big difference. Could you please share your thoughts on these windows….quality etc. Is Marvin worth paying almost double….and not sure of the quality of the Simonton window. We will appreciate your input!

[Site Editor's Answer]

Wendy, I definitely like the Marvin Essential series, but not at 2x over the Simonton windows prices. The Simonton 6500 is a good vinyl window. Not a great one, but a solid performer overall. Honestly, I would love to see another bid in between those two as a counterweight, but I guess that was what the Sunrise was. Frankly, Sunrise would be my pick - is there a way around the spacer issue? Can you order a non black spacer? Or upgrade to a spacer that is not black?

If not, I think the Simonton option is decent, but I'm not sure I'd give it the thumbs up if you're staying in your home long term...you still might want to consider another bid...

Consumer Complaint

Had some Majic fiberglass windows go in several years ago and we've had issues with them from the start. I think it's less the window itself and more than crappy install they did. I'm just so disappointed with the whole thing as I thought that fiberglass windows were supposed to be so great. Not happy.

Majic Windows vs Wallside

Hi what windows would you recommend for Michigan winters? Anlin or Wallside, Majic or Pella Imperial or Anderson fibrex? All the best

Arjun - Homeowner - from 2024

[Site Editor's Answer]

Arjun, Anlin will not be available your state so that option is out. Wallside ought to be considered, at least for a bid - I'm not the biggest fan, but you will want to collect a series of quotes for the sake of price comparisons. Majic is still a bit of a mystery to me in terms of overall quality - they sell a fiberglass window, which is going to be considerably more expensive than vinyl so get the bid, but expect it to be expensive.

Pella sells an Impervia, not an Imperial - the Pella Impervia is in my opinion a low quality fiberglass window that I would pass on. Renewal By Andersen is worth a bid, but it will probably be long and the bid will be very expensive. I'm going to send you a list of recommended windows that should provide some additional options and brands.

Majic vs Castle Windows

We are in the process of collecting bids and we got one from Castle. Ended up being roughly $825 a window. The other quote was from Majic at $890 a window, but Majic is fiberglass so it makes sense that it costs more money, right? Which is better for the money?

[Site Editor's Answer]

Deb, I'm still in my "infant" stages in terms of Majic reviews. I don't love United vinyl windows though. I think you should continue looking for bids. I'm going to send you my list of recommendations.

Experience With This Company

Hi Dane. I was curious what your experience with majic window has been. It doesn’t seem as if you have a lot of reviews on your site, but I thought maybe you have some insight into the overall quality. Also looking at Sunrise, but they are probably out of my price range based on your reviews. Thanks so much - your other reviews had so much information that I thought maybe you were holding out on me. Ha ha.

Dennis - Homeowner - from 2023

[Site Editor's Answer]

Dennis, I have to admit my reviews on this company are pretty thread bare I have been working to improve them for several months now, but thus far I have not had much success. I am happy to send you my list of recommended window options, which I think should serve you very well.

Majic Window Reviews

I’ve been reading reviews on this company Magic (sp?) and they are genuinely bizarre! It’s either 1 star or 5 star - almost to a tee. I kinda believe the 1 stars because those are p-o'ed customers. Right? That makes sense. But how can there be such disjointed reviews on a single company? No one thinks they are just okay and gives them 2, 3, or 4 stars. I’m confused. Would you consider them?

Jessica - Homeowner - from 2023

[Site Editor's Answer]

Jessica, so I did some searching and you’re right…they are all either 1 star or 5 stars. I read a handful of the 5 star reviews and they seemed very generic, although it could also simply be that Majic Windows incentivizes their customers to write a favorable review and in exchange they will knock of $100 or something to this. This is relatively common and isn't necessarily a bad practice. I’m assuming that these are satisfied customers, because no one would endorse a company that did crappy work. I just think that these reviews on the whole can’t really be trusted.

I also wouldn’t use a company for my house that had that many 1 star reviews. What is the point of taking a chance when you can go with a tried and true company that has nearly all 5 star reviews. I’ll send you my list of trusted brands and window series.
