Sterling Window Systems: $$/$$$
What They SellSterling sells the DuraGuard window series, which they apparently make and sell factory direct to consumers. The details behind this window and or patio door are a bit confusing. It is entirely possible that the company is actually selling a ProVia window and door. On their website, they appear to be selling a ProVia door - and ProVia makes a DuraGuard window (an off label window for certain distributors.) The window industry is great at making things confusing for the consumer so this is very possibly the case here. They say that they make their own window in their factory in Knoxville, TN but when I said that I wanted to research their window they said I could check Chelsea Windows. They priced $7000 for 16 windows they are a DuraGard XT 400 double hung with Vinyl frame, double glazed, Low E coating (e=0.020, S2). This seem like a good price compared with Apex at $9991 ( Apex Windows Reviews ) and Lowes $9600 (Reliabilt 3500 Series). Thanks for your input.
[Site Editor's Answer]Ken, I really don't have much information on Sterling Windows Systems. I checked them online and they have great reviews on Angie's List (4.8 out of 5 on 43 reviews) and decent reviews on Google. The DuraGard is, from the little I know, a solid mid range vinyl window. That's a good price for 16 windows. I'm not sure I would pay the additional money for the Apex. Definitely not for the Reliabilt 3500 series. I thought the DuraGard had an Energy Enhancement Package that looked like a nice upgrade package. I would highly consider this option if this were my project.
