Rite Windows Reviews

Rite Windows is headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts and operates a second factory in Exeter, New Hampshire.

Rite Window Warranty: Rite is a Massachusetts based company that has have been in business since 2000. They provide replacement vinyl windows and doors in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, as well as several of the surrounding New England states. Rite also provides additional home improvement services, including roofs, showers and baths.)

What They Sell: Rite manufactures their own vinyl windows and doors, which can be ordered in the following styles: double hungs, awnings, basement hoppers, bays, bows, casements, sliders, as well as garden and picture windows.

Rite Window Warranty: The warranty they offer is pretty solid generally speaking. There is a lifetime warranty on their vinyl frames and sashes, 50 years on the IGU or insulated glass unit (including seal failure), 50 years on accidental glass breakage (a very nice feature, but with some exceptions), 50 years on hardware, parts, and accessories, and 50 years on labor (again, a very nice feature).

The warranty is transferable as long as the original owner registers the warranty within 30 days of installation and notifies the company of the new owner’s information. (I always think the odds of this actually happening are low, but they are certainly worth noting.) Warranties are always changing and terms and exclusions apply. Make sure to always check the latest warranty from the company website prior to purchase.

Rite Windows Reviews

Hello, Dane! Thank you for the offer to look at bids! These are two bids for vinyl replacement windows for a bay window (three casements). Pictures are included in one of the documents below. One bid is from Long Home Products, using KHPP Meridian windows $3876

The second is from a New England regional manufacturer and installer, RITE windows. Theirs aren't on the NFRC website; KHPP are. Neither are certified by AAMA. Both Long Home Products and RITE are BBB certified; KHPP isn't. $4803 KHPP Windows Reviews

Full disclosure, we signed a contract with Long and are having second thoughts...we've since looked into how much glass area we'll lose and it's 5 1/4 across the 60 inch window width and 3-4 inches from the 50 inch height. I realize any vinyl windows will be very similar. We're also considering waiting until we feel we could afford actually replacing the entire window unit, not with a replacement product. If we don't go through with the Long contract, we'll lose $1300.

Thoughts?

P.S. RITE gets better reviews online for installation; I think the KHPP window is slightly better in term of energy efficiency. RITE is more expensive, plus the $1300 we may forfeit to Long. How much do Rite Windows cost anyway - normally?

[Site Editor's Answer]

Emily, I can't speak to the company portion -- mainly because I was confused which Long Home Products branch I was looking at :) but the Mass. LHP that I saw received good marks on their installation. Window wise, the KHPP Meridian is a great window. Very high quality. I think you stick with LHP - but you call them back and say something like we are a little bit concerned about the installation as we did see a couple of "not so great" reviews.

Once they get done defending their reviews, you ask them how you can get their very best install team and that you're happy to be flexible on the install date but you HAVE TO GET THEIR VERY BEST because you're partner/spouse is such a perfectionist (or something like this). This should work...

I'm not sure I can give you a succinct price point on them. The best thing you can do is collect four to five bids -- this will tell you the fair market price for your project.

Rite Windows Reviews

Hi Dane - what do you think of Rite - it says they install their own brand of vinyl windows in the Greater Boston Area. I like their no-nonsense approach to pricing and installing, but have no idea about the quality of the product that they install. Can you please shed a little light on them?

We are looking to do 22 vinyl double hungs and our 2 area exclusive Okna dealers. The Okna windows cost about $1,000 each installed. My other options are Sunrise and Harvey (there is a manufacturing plant right here in Salem, NH), Alside, Simonton, Great Lakes, Unishield / Polaris, Provia, Pella, Marvin, and Andersen. What manufacturers would you recommend pursuing a price from that would keep my budget at about $500 per window installed for a good, solid, energy efficient and high-value window with few worries?

[Site Editor's Answer]

David, I have heard of Rite in passing, but I don't know anything about them or Rite Windows reviews. They seem to have quite a presence in the Boston area so I am surprised they have slipped beneath my radar for so long. Their online reviews seem to be solid: 4.6 on google, 4.4 on FB, and 4.7 on Home Advisor. As to the quality of their windows, I can't say -- their website reveals very little. I would assume they sell a no frills mid range vinyl window. Assuming professional installation, not a bad option if you can keep it at $500 installed.

Given today's prices, keeping your budget at $500 is a tall task. I am unsurprised that Okna dealers are charging $1000 each -- a year ago it was $700 a window and well worth it. I agree that $1K per window is a tough pill to swallow. ( Okna Windows Reviews )

Boston should have a Soft-Lite dealer in the area, at least I believe they do. Their Elements and Imperial LS are top of the line series, while their Classic and Pro Series are very solid performers. Soft-Lite Windows Reviews

Harvey sells a good vinyl window in the Classic Series and the upgraded Tribute series. Definitely worth a bid from a local dealer.

Finally, I can always recommend the Simonton Reflections 5500 series and the Impressions 9800 series. Always a good performer in Simonton's premium lines.
