Win Dor Windows Reviews

Explore Win Dor Windows reviews on this California manufacturer that specializes in custom windows and doors, including the WinShield series.

Company Information: Win-Dor is headquartered in Brea, California (close to Anaheim) and has been in business since the mid 90s. The company makes custom windows and doors that are sold through dealers (local stores) across much of the western half of the United States.

Windows They Sell: Win-Dor manufactures a limited number of products that include (on the window side) the following: 1550 sliding window, 1550 single hung, 1550 picture window, 1750 casement, 2750 folding window, and the WinShield series. The WinShield can be ordered as a casement and in a number of door configurations. The WinShield is a black color frame inside and out.

Doors They Sell: The company also sells a number of door options, including the 3750 multi-slide, 2750 multi-slide, 3750 folding door, 3750 swing, 3750 sliding, and the 2750 sliding door.

Is Win-Dor Any Good? I would say the company makes good quality products. I don't hear about them enough though to say this with total confidence. They do seem to get accolades from local review sites so I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt in this regard.

Win-Dor Ratings: I would give the company a 7.3 rating out of 10 - my ratings are often getting tweaked a bit here and there so check back!

Win Dor Quality Window & Door Systems gets a 4.3 out of 5 stars based on 4 Win-dor Windows reviews below.

Win Dor Windows Reviews

Hey guys. I’m here in Southern California and really need some expert advice. Win-Dor has their Windshield 1750 series and I wondered what you thought of this option. We are also looking at Anlin and Amerimax.

[Site Editor's Answer]

Joanne, the Win-Dor Windshield series does look like a nice option. I really like the black on black from a design standpoint. I haven’t seen a lot of performance data though on this window, so I can’t give it my full endorsement. The company does seem to make quality windows and doors, but I just don’t hear enough about them to make a solid assessment.

I really like the Amerimax Craftsman Portrait series and if this is what you got the bid on, I might give this the nod over the Win-Dor. Of course, Anlin makes very products and their Del mar Series is perhaps the best West Coast vinyl option on the market. I think it’s going to come down to price and the company doing the actual installation for your project.

Win Dor Brand Question

Was curious whether Win-Dor is a quality brand or not? A dealer here in Bend Oregon carries them, and they seem reasonably priced, but there doesn’t seem to be much about them. I was curious if I could get your take.

[Site Editor's Answer]

Johnna, I don’t hear a ton of information About Win-Dor, but they seem to make a mid range quality product. Sometimes my users think this is a slight against the company making the product, but it really isn’t. A good mid range vinyl series that is properly installed should perform quite well over time.

I would definitely collect a bid from them, but I would also collect a few more and then compare. Once you collect your bids, let’s circle back on this and see how everything compares. But I think that window door does make a decent window and some pretty interesting folding and sliding.

Win-Dor Windows Reviews

I was hoping you are able to offer what you know about these:

1 . Win-Dor Windows (and Doors) - made by Win-Dor company themselves. Their main office as well as factory where they manufacture their own windows are located in Anaheim, California. They seem to be a trustworthy company, but very limited window style selection (ie they discontinued their double hung windows due to lack of supply demand) .

2 . Anlin Extreme - I'm not sure if this is a relabel of one of Anlin's series, or a new series, but was not on your list.

3 . Simonton Vantage Pointe 6500 - Home Depot offers this . Do you know which Simonton series the 6500 is equivalent to?

I think I'd like to interview a couple more companies before I decide, but right now I'm trying to decide between Anlin Extreme/ Amerimax Craftsman (same installer) or Win-Dor. Any thoughts?

Also, going into this I was expecting Low-e2 to be the standard, but seems Low-e3 is what I've been presented with, although one of the companies tried telling me that their Low-e3 is normally an "upgrade" but they are currently "offering" Low-e3 for the price of their Low-e2 (even though they are phasing out the Low-e2 meaning I couldn't even buy it if I wanted to LOL). I caught on right away that it was a sales tactic from doing much research and familiarizing myself with terms and such.

[Contractor Response]

Are you in Hawaii? I've never seen this Anlin model but it looks to be available for Hawaii only…Simonton tends to be very cryptic in their model names - if you find a distributor who serves your area they should be able to tell you the comparable model. Often times, Simonton relabels their windows and then provides them to certain distributors or resellers to create the idea of exclusivity.

The Anlin looks like the best of the bunch, depending on what price you can get. Amerimax is a good vinyl window as well -- they are both really on par with one another -- Amerimax does have lots of exterior color options for their vinyl windows, although it adds a lot to the cost of the window (up to 30% in some cases!)

Honestly, I know very little about Win-Dor, but I will check them out this week and see what I can find. Let me know how the bids come in against one another!
