All of the models listed are considered well made, although the Insul-Tec 500 and 800 Series are the standouts. Zen Windows

Soft-Lite Zen windows are a franchise of Soft-Lite window and are available in Harrisburg, Lancaster and York Counties, and perhaps other parts of the state. Rebadge or rebranded windows simply means that the parent company, in this case, Soft-Lite sells their windows through a specific set of distributors, using a different name. In this case Zen Windows. Essentially, the Zen Karma is the equivalent to the Soft-Lite Barrington, the Zen Nirvana is the equivalent to the Soft-Lite Classic, and the Zen Lotus is the equivalent to the Soft-Lite Pro. While the Barrington is not considered a very good vinyl window, both the Soft-Lite Classic and the Soft-Lite Pro are considered top quality vinyl windows.

Window Nation Grandview Quote In Pennsylvania

I live in Lancaster County, PA. I received a quote for Window Nation Grandview windows for 17 double hung, grids in both sashes, (3 of the 17 are tempered glass). The final quote, after the “buy 2 get 2”,”First Responder discount” etc is $17,285. This is our first look at windows and we will be getting 2 more quotes. Is $1,016 per window, installed reasonable for this window?

Thanks!

Brian, I think paying over $1000 per window for a Grandview is quite high and I definitely think you need to collect more bids, so good for you.

Replacement Windows From West Shore Home

Dane, was wondering if you could help me out. We got a quote of $18,600 (discounted to replace 11 wooden windows (original windows) for a home 20 + years old. West Shore Home is the contractor and they are claiming that this is a discounted price because my fiancée had bought 3 exterior doors from then recently for which she was charged $3K per door installed.

She is a single mom and a nurse working 12-16 hour shifts so she doesn't have time to entertain multiple offers and have a bunch of vendors parading through. I live in Philadelphia and she is in Irwin, PA near Pittsburgh so I can't manage entertaining multiple bids either.

What do you think of the attached bid? They are also offering 0% interest for 5 years.

Thanks very much for any thoughts on this.

Greg, honestly I think the bid is too high and I know nothing of the windows they are selling. I’m not sure what to tell you, but I think you should get at least one more bid if you don’t have the time for multiple bids.

Replacement Window Options in West Chester, Pennsylvania

Hello, I am looking to have most of the windows replaced in our home. Approximately 22 windows. I have gotten a few quotes, have tried to do my own homework and research in looking for a good solid window, but I’m not sure if the quotes for the windows I received are fair or overpriced..? I’m looking for a good, middle of the road-above average, double hung, vinyl window. I live in West Chester PA, 19380.

I would really appreciate your advice!
