ASI Acoustical Surfaces Window Inserts
Hi Dan, you had mentioned window inserts, wondering your thoughts on ASI acoustical surfaces they're quarter inch acrylic climate seal window inserts. They claim they're the best, better than indow ....thoughts?

Cindy, I've never heard of ASI acoustical surfaces. I checked their website and the double hung with one of their inserts gets an STC rating of 37, which is pretty darn good. Indow's website for a double pane window with one of their acoustical grade insert claims a 42 to 45 STC. I honestly don't have enough information on either of these companies to tell you which one makes the better product.
I feel like Indow Windows has a good reputation, but my lack of knowledge of ASI acoustical surfaces precludes me from commenting on their effectiveness. My notion is either insert will make a big difference. The installation is going to be very important.
I will say that ASI's website advertises their windows for Victim/Interrogation Rooms and who doesn't need one of those? I almost fell out of my chair when I read that!
