Honestly, the Alaskan Window System series just popped up on my radar, but it strikes me as a mid range vinyl window series. This "window system" is sold by Windows USA through their various branches. The Alaskan Window system is available as a double hung, slider, fixed frame picture window, and in several specialty shapes.
Our Verdict: At a glance (and that's all I did), the window looks pretty mediocre to me. It uses a pocket sill, or capture sill, which can have issues over time if debris, and or moisture gets trapped inside. If and when I hear more feedback or information on this window series, I'll update.

"Dane, I've been collecting window quotes and recently met with Windows USA about their Alaskan series. The salesperson knew the product well, but the presentation definitely had a "sign today" feel to it. Even so, their pricing ended up being very competitive. So far I've also looked at the Alside Mezzo, Renewal, Preservation series, and the Pella 250 window. Any initial thoughts for me?"
Jason, I don't have alot of firsthand info on the Alaskan series, so if you receive any product literature I'd be interested in taking a look. I would rank your current options as such: Renewal, Preservation series, Pella 250 window, and the Alside Mezzo. However, once you provide pricing, this list will change dramatically (the Renewal price quote will probably be much higher than the other three). I think that's the next step, getting prices...then we'll have an apples-to-apples comparison. "I have quote from Windows USA out of Arkansas for Alaskan Windows. It is their best window series so they tell me. Also, it comes with a Lifetime warranty for locks, seals, framework and breakage. So, I had 7 replaced with them 3 years ago and the price was good for 5 years to come back and replace my other 7 units. Then, the Quote was $5300 for the 7, which is what I paid for my other 7 three years ago.
I can get a 5 year loan at no prepayment and interest free because of having this set up in 2020.Local quote is 10.99% interest for 5 years and is with ViWinTech windows. Additionally, they say it's their best window and for 7 is $3760 with same warranty. Local company is not just a “window” company. They mainly do roofs, vinyl siding and gutters. So, what is your advice on these two options?"
Donna, ViWinTech is a decent brand, but you haven't told me what series they quoted you out on. Therefore, my overall opinion would be that if you like the quality of the window from Windows USA, then I would probably stick with the ViWintech price quote. If you are paying the same amount based on 2020 pricing, then I'd say go for that option. I have never heard of Alaskan Window Systems, which gives me considerable pause.
