Alumax Window Screens Question
We purchased Alumax window back in 1996 and I removed the screen to have them repaired. It was a struggle to get them out and I don't seem to be able to put them back in without severly bending the frame. I feel that I should try to remove the windows and insert the screen.

Thom, I would go to youtube.com and type in "how to remove a window screen" -- there should be lots of basic tutorial type videos on just how to replace the screen. If it's a simple type of screen and is pretty busted up, you can call up a place like Ace Hardware and ask if they custom makes screens -- the one in my area has made quite a few screens for me.

Alumax And Amerimax Windows
I purchased a home that has Alumax windows, I believe craftsman double hung. All 14 of these windows have broken seals. Mold is growing up in between some of these. I have a bid from Amerimax for $7500

John, Alumax doesn't seem to do replacement windows, but perhaps they have changed over the years. I would get the Amerimax window dealer out to give you another bid that address each and every part of your project.
