Amcraft Windows Reviews

Explore Amcraft Windows reviews from consumers and industry experts and explore Amcraft windows warranty on the Grand Estates window, a relabeled Simonton series.

Company Information:

What They Sell: While you won't find much online information on Amcraft Windows, they manufacture The Grand Estates vinyl window series.

Are Amcraft Windows Any Good? Overall, a pretty run of the mill window in my opinion. I think there are probably better options out there for the money. The window seems to have a presence in the southern states such as Texas.

Overall Rating: Amcraft gets a 3.7 out of 5 stars based on 7 Amcraft Windows reviews below.

Amcraft Windows Reviews

I had some Amcraft windows installed back in 2012 (I know, long time ago) for a sunroom. They are actually very nice windows. I do remember that the windows had labels indicating the windows configuration and associated energy performance, but again they were labels. If I need the NFRC labels where I can find those labels (if they were mandatory by then by the NFRC). My city certified building official is requesting this info from me. Is there any way you can help?

Carlos, you can check here under the NFRC website -- https://search.nfrc.org/search/Searchdefault.aspx. It will give you general information on the windows, assuming your model is still being made.

If this doesn't suffice, I would call Amsco Windows up directly and ask them if they have the information. They ought to since they made the window :)

Amcraft Window Question

Hi, I had Amcraft windows installed in 2004. I need weep holes covers for 3 windows which equals about 10 covers. These are 9 sectional sliders. The 9 section is the grid placed in the window. Can you help me? Thanks.

Bobbi, you should be able to buy these on amazon. If they don't have your size, I would call HD and ask them if they sell them. One of these two sources should have what you need.

AmCraft vs. CWS Window Bid

Dane we received a price quote from CWS for 18 windows, all fairly complex. The cost was $19,935. The other bid was from AmCraft windows and was for $16,500.

CWS or AmCraft, which is the better option do you think?

Mary - Homeowner - from 2018

Mary, CWS clearly has the better reputation of AmCraft. I don't consider them to be a high quality brand. I would get a couple more bids if this were my project. I'd forget the AmCraft and get a bid from Simonton, PGT, Stank, Sunrise, Wincore. Hopefully, a few of those are available in your area.

Amcraft Window Costs vs Wallside

I got a bid from Wallside for 8 windows for $6,000, which seems high to me, but they said that we needed a bunch of additional work to the frames. They were very nice and never pressured us in any way. The Wallside windows cost was $300 less than a bid we got recently from a dealer who sold AmCraft windows.

Amcraft Windows Reviews

Dane, I'm getting quotes for my home on replacement windows -- so far I got one for a Simonton Grand Estates, but I can't find anything out about them. The quote was on 10 windows and came out to $5500.

Thanks so much!

[Site Editor's Response]

Travis, I believe that this window is manufactured by Amcraft, instead of Simonton, although it's difficult to know of every window model, series, etc.

If it is Amcraft, I'm not a huge fan, although I like several Simonton models well enough. Amcraft is more of an entry level building products company.

Amcraft vs Simonton Windows

I live in Central Florida and have bids on the Simonton Grand Estates Original, PGT5400, and the PGT 400? Which is the best window of the bunch?

Frank - Homeowner - from 2015

[Site Editor's Response]

Frank, the Simonton Grand Estates Original is often sold by Amcraft. Simonton makes a good mid range window and the Grand Estates Original is the upgraded Grand Estates. They also make a Premier and aPremier Plus series. Amcraft isn't going to offer as strong a warranty as Simonton, but it's not bad.

PGT makes a good vinyl window. I prefer the newer PGT 5400 window to the 400 and think the single hung is one of the better single hungs you can get. Nice performance data and good overall construction. You have two decent options in the Grand Estates and the 5400 series.
