American Window Products Reviews

American Window Products may be a little confusing because there are two companies that use this name (that we know of). There is one company based in Wisconsin that is a manufacturer of what appear to be pretty entry level vinyl windows. The company being reviewed here is based out of Jacksonville, Florida. AWP of Florida claims to be the oldest family owned window and door replacement company in the U.S (can't confirm or deny this claim, so I will take them at their word). American Window Products Reviews

Hello, I came across your website last year. I'm in the market to purchase windows again and wanted to get your valuable opinion. I received an estimate for a local installer from Wisconsin. Quoted me $8,900 for 10 Harvey Slimline double hung windows, low e, argon, half screen, no grids. This also includes labor, foam, caulking, haul away and aluminum flashing redone on the exterior.

They offer 1 window free if you get 10. Price is now $8,010. Which is now $801 per window. 2 of the windows were also smaller than the rest. Then I had a bid from American Window Products, which came out $1K less overall. Figured we would have more savings. I had a similar job last year for less windows and those came out to about $760 as cost per window but those included one sash with the grids. The installer claims that supply costs are up. The company did great work and priced out the bid very competitively.

Kaz, prices do seem to keep on jumping. It's impossible to know if they are just what companies / contractors are charging, or if their supplier costs are really going up. My advice is to collect 3 or 4 bids and see what others are charging in your area. Honestly, this is the only real way to know what the fair market price ought to be.

Additionally, I like Harvey Slimline - but for $800 per window, I think you might be able to do better. Similarly, I think you would be better served to start your search over than go with the American Window option. I will send you my list and you can see if there is anything there that might be a better overall fit for your sitation.
