Ameritech Windows Prices

Hi, Dane. We first had a quote from a local contractor, Ameritech Windows, in June 2020. That bid was $24,000 for 5 windows. Shell shocked, we decided to try one bay window in our kitchen. These are Oxford windows manufactured in PA. The price for this window was $7,000.

After installation we decided not to buy the remaining 4 windows from Ameritech. We got a bid from Lifetime Windows, Infinity by Marvin, which came out to be similar to Ameritech: $24,000 to start reduced to $16,738. The windows measure out:

LR 89x58 bow window $14,973 discount to $10,000
DR 64x34 3L Cass $3,846 discount to $2,577
BR same Cass as above
BR 34x34 Cass $2,316 discount to $1,552

These are fiberglass frame with double pane, argon gas, no custom color, but framed in wood on interior. The bow window would replace a bay window. These 2 bids seem way too high. Thank you in advance for your reply.

Peggy, the bid seems quite high to me. I’m making the assumption you are in Colorado because of Ameritech’s location. If so, check with an Amerimax dealer and get a bid on their Amerimax Craftsman Portrait series. Also get a bid from a Sunrise dealer. Sunrise makes a great window.

Finally, there might be a Zen dealer that services your area and hopefully they sell a Soft-Lite Classic or Pro in their Nirvana and Lotus models. Ask to make sure they sell Soft-Lite and not Alside. The Classic and Pro are a bit older windows but they are tried and true. This is where I would start. Get your bids and shoot them my way and then we can see how everything shakes out!
