Sunrise Windows vs Andersen Company Info
Sunrise Windows (now part of MITER or MI Windows And Doors) was headquartered in Temperance, Michigan and has been manufacturing since 1994. In 2020, the company was purchased by MITER brands, which worried people that the overall quality would go down. From everything we can tell, this has not been the case. In 2023, the Sunrise name went away and now the line is more or less integrated into the MI branding. Nevertheless, they sell vinyl window and doors and enjoy quite a good reputation in the industry.
Andersen is perhaps the best known brand in the window and door space. Certainly much more so than sunrise and or MI windows. the company has been busy has been in business for over 100 years and is headquartered in in Minnesota. Unlike Sunrise, Andersen Windows sells, wood clad, windows, and doors primarily. They enjoy quite a good reputation in the industry for making high-quality products.
What They Sell
Sunrise Windows and Doors sells a number of different windows series, from the entry level Essentials Series, to the upper mid range Sunrise classic and then to the premium Verde, Vanguard and Restorations Series. These higher end series use the standard frame but include nice upgrades as standard features. Sunrise sells several of these series as patio doors as well.
Anderson doesn’t sell a ton of products, but what they do sell, they do a good job with. They’re 100 series is a fiber composite window that is sold through Home Depot. They also have a 200, 400, and a series, wood clad windows. all of these products are available as either windows or as doors.
How They Market
Now that Sunrise is part of MI Windows, the company sells their windows and doors through the large distribution channels that exist for MI. This includes local companies in nearly all of the 50 states, as well as selling to larger developers and contractors. Certainly, many more Sunrise window and doors are sold today than they were with the original companies due to the much larger distribution footprint.
