Window World vs Andersen Windows 2026: Which Brand Wins?
While Andersen Windows is the stronger overall brand, Window World is significantly more affordable and focuses exclusively on vinyl windows and patio doors.
For homeowners interested in premium wood or composite windows and long term performance, Andersen is the clear winner. However, for budget friendly and mid range vinyl windows and patio sliders, Window World is the much better value. In most cases, it makes sense to get bids from both companies to compare pricing and product options.

Window World Windows vs Andersen (Company Comparison)
Window World is headquartered in North Wilkesboro, N.C. And has been in business since 1995. The company claims to be the largest replacement windows&doors company in the country. (I tend to think this is true in terms of the sheer number of replacement vinyl windows&doors they sell. Vinyl accounts for nearly 60% of all replacement windows&doors sold in the U.S. each year). WW has over 200 franchises, mostly located in urban cities and areas. Franchises are independently owned companies that use the same basic windows, use the same marketing materials etc.
The Andersen Corporation is a Wisconsin based company that has been around for over one hundred years. The company has a very good reputation for quality and craftsmanship in their windows&doors. They are best known for their wood-clad windows and doors. They are arguably the best known of all the window companies in the United States.
Window World vs Andersen Cost Comparison
Window World prices are at the lower to mid range of the vinyl window market. While their entry level windows are low quality in my opinion, their 6000 series is a solid mid range vinyl offering.
Anderson Windows Cost are toward the top of the wood window price range. Their composite series, however, is sold at many of the big box stores, specifically Home Depot. The price point on this model is more like in the middle of the pack for composites.

What They Sell
Over the years, WW has solid relabeled windows from AMI, MI, Alside, ComfortWindow, Xact, Simonton, and Wincore. I will say this: lately the window series they’ve been selling are these final two options, which are very solid in my opinion. I’m not privy to how the different branches sell what they sell. For their replacement doors, the company sells Therma Tru Doors. However, the last I’d heard the 6000 series was the Alside Ultramaxx, the 4000 was the ComfortWindow 4000, and the 3000 was the MI 1650. I will continue to update this page as more information comes my way.
Andersen sells a small number of series and models, including the 100, 200, and 400. The latter two are wood and the first series is a composite. There is also the A series, which is quite impressive.
How They Market
Window World is a direct-to-consumer installation company. As previously stated, they don’t make any of the windows or doors that they sell. The use tv ads, print marketing, flyers and such to reach out to their customer base. This is nearly identical to Renewal By Andersen, which makes sense, since the two are both structured as franchises. Of course, WW markets vinyl windows that are quite affordable. Renewal sells a much more expensive composite window series.
The Andersen Corporation sells its windows&doors through a nation-wide network of local dealers. They also market in the hundreds of Home Depot stores that dot the landscape. Finally, the sell through builders and contractors who have access to them.

Andersen Windows vs Window World
| Window Series | Total Quote Installed | Average Installed Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Window World Alside Mezzo | $10,500 | $750 per window |
| Allstate Siding Windows | Approximately $18,500 | Approximately $1,018 per window |
"Dane, thank you so much, this is very helpful! I will look into providers of the other types of windows you recommended. I too struggle with the price.
Why is Window World so cheap with $10.5K, because that is what they quoted me for 14 windows as well. They offer Mezzo windows. I’ve asked Allstate Siding about that and they said Window World installation is crappy. But to charge me $18K in excess, granted, AllState’s windows may be of better quality and durability. I can’t wrap my head around the cost. I even considered Andersen wood windows but they said that this was going to be way more than the already crazy prices I'm seeing."

Editor's Advice:
Faryal, for the most part Window World offers a mediocre window (although the Alside Mezzo is a solid mid range window in my opinion) and mediocre installation (although some branches do offer good installation quality). That's why their prices are so low. It's like comparing a Hyundai and a BMW -- the Hyundai isn't a bad car, but's it's also no BMW. You can buy a lemon of a BMW, but the odds that that happens is WAY lower than the odds that your Hyundai has issues down the road. I'm not bagging on Hyundai, btw :) just pointing out that it's not a high end car.
Our Alside Mezzo windows reviews ought to provide more pricing and quality information.
