Dalco Windows vs Window World
Dane - we are considering a full house replacement of windows - 34 in total. 22 of those are double hungs. We have two bids (Window World vs Dalco). Window World is pricing out their 4000 series window with solarzone elite. ( Window World 4000 Series Reviews ) Also, we've seen some of their windows around and when the sun hits them right. Furthermore, it looks like they show a green tint which isn't real appealing to us.
Dalco is pricing out their Reality 8000 series windows and we don't believe they would have that green tint. Also, we've got some specs on the windows that we're not really sure are correct (they both came from the salesmen) - Dalco Reality 8000 and Window World 4000 Series. Firstly, Dalco's bid is coming in approximately 20% higher than Window World which sounds pretty high. Secondly, they claim no subcontracted installers - really not sure that Window World answered that question.
Additionally, Window World wants $50 to transfer the warranty - Dalco didn't. I believe Target provides Dalco's glass. Don't know that Window World mentioned it or we missed it. Also, I believe some of Window World's numbers above don't exactly align with some of the numbers I think I saw on your site or maybe it was somewhere else. However, it seems you're not a fan of Window World but would appreciate any advice you might have.

Tom, I am not a fan of Window World in terms of long term value. Specifically, they sell a sub par window that very well might breaking down in year 10 to 12. On the other hand, Dalco seems to get solid to good reviews. However, I really don’t have any information on the Reality 8000 series window. I have heard of Target windows, but I have never heard of them as some world beater. A .10 AI is not a bad number though.
I wish I had more info on the Dalco Reality 8000 series. If you did want to collect a few more bids, then let me know and I’m happy to send you my recommended windows list.
