My Take On This Company: I still don't have enough info on these guys, but I do like Simonton windows, so I would say this is a thumbs up for me.

What They Sell

From what I can tell, the company sells a relabeled Simonton window. The EcoView 3000 series is essentially the Simonton Asure with a few upgrades. The EcoView 7000 series is the Simonton 5050 with several upgrades. And finally, the EcoView 9000 series is a relabeled Simonton 5500. This 9000 premium option is quite good.

Locations

Ecoview has franchised branches in the following states: Washington, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. The company seems to be on the march so they might be expanding to your state next.

Ecoview vs Viwinco

So the quote I sent was from Ecoview Windows for Simonton Storm Plus. The Mister Window dropped $300 for permit and another $300 and then Ecoview said they’d match. $23,800 for Simonton if I go Ecoview or Viwinco if I go Mr. window. I’m in Tampa, FL. The Mr Window is out of Palmetto FL and Ecoview is in Tampa. Thanks!

[Site Editor's Answer]

Lisa, honestly I would go with the company that gets the better overall reviews from Google, Angi, etc. I feel like the windows are kind of a toss up, although I might be leaning towards the Viwinco over the Simonton Storm Plus if you made me pick :)

[Lisa's Reply]

Ha! You and another editor are split down the middle I went with Ecoview with the Simonton. They actually carry both windows and felt the Simonton was better, plus they price matched the other company and I got turtle glass to match what is already being tinted mirror blue. The owner comes out and takes measurements himself.

Source Of Your Information

Hi Dane, I have been looking for information about ecoview windows. The sale rep did not have a brochure and there is almost nothing on their website about the windows themselves. Could you provide a source for this comment regarding them using Simonton windows? [Comment pulled but it was located on the ecoview windows reviews page.]

Jared - Homeowner - from 2024

[Site Editor's Answer]

Jared, to be honest I don't remember where I saw that information. It was either on a forum or by cross referencing my site. It's only very recently that ecoview even came onto my radar and lots of those installation companies are cagey about what they relabel and sell. I know I saw the information, because I wouldn't have posted if I didn't - but I can't properly source it in good conscience.

Go back to the rep and ask him point blank. It he isn't willing to tell you, then I would move on myself. The other thing is these companies will often change their suppliers based on cost, availability, etc. so it might have been Simonton one year and Champion windows the next.

FYI, it is absolutely bonkers to me that a company wouldn't want their customers to know EXACTLY what product they are installing, but the window industry is just plain weird in some respects.

Tampa Replacement Windows

Hello: I have two quotes (Mister Window and Ecoview). I have a 1941 home with 17 windows to be replaced 4 were replaced prior to me with Jeldwin Impact windows. Ecoview has Simonton StormBreaker Plus for about $27k but issues a price guarentee - so they will match like windows. Mr. Window has the Viwinco Coastal for $24,400.

Both are double hung, both companies offer financing. Ecoview will price match. Thoughts on strength in double vs single hung? Thoughts on these two companies?

Lisa - Homeowner - from 2024

[Site Editor's Answer]

Lisa, for me these windows are pretty equal to one another. Both are very solid options in my opinion. I would make the decision based on the companies doing the install. I would give EcoView the nod, but I would advice you to google both an see if you can find an aggregate rating on each and compare which is higher. Double hung vs single hung - this doesn’t matter to me from a functional point of view. I would look at the performance data of the double vs single - this would be the decider…

EcoView vs NT

Hi Dane, Windows Unlimited revised their quote when I sent them the more detailed prior quote I'd received for the Gentek windows. ( Window Universe Reviews ). It is now over $32K (no discount options for paying cash). I received a quote for NT Executive Windows today for $32K as well, but with a 20% discount if paying cash. I was told prices have gone up considerably in the last few years.

I'm getting a quote on Anlin and ProVia from a company in the next few days. ( ProVia Windows Reviews )

25 Double Hungs
Installation: $7350
Total $32141 from Window Universe

EcoView Total $32,650 or $26,429 (within 30 days)

Eric - Homeowner - from 2024

[Site Editor's Answer]

Eric, I think I would do the EcoView NT Executive quote and try to do the 30 day promo with the 20% off. $26K is not bad for that job all in brick...I think that that's the better option over the Window Universe deal.

EcoView Windows Reviews

Dane, we recently got a window bid from Eco view here in Florida on one of their impact windows. I asked about the brand and they said it was their own window that they make in their plant or facility. I don’t know, I guess I don’t understand the right terminology. On your website, it says that they use Simonton. So I was confused on if they use Simonton or their own brand window. If they do use their own final impact window, I was wondering what you thought about the quality?

Thank you so so much. I really learned a lot over these past few weeks on your site.

Deborah - Homeowner - from 2023

[Site Editor's Answer]

Deborah, thanks for the nice words about our site. We pride ourselves in being an online resource for consumers. As to your question, I was under the impression that eco-view did use Simonton. They did the last time I checked. However, as is the case with many window companies, they will change who they buy from or if they buy a manufacturing plant and do the work themselves. If the eco view sales rep said that they install and manufacture their own vinyl windows, then I will assume the truth, and that we need to update the information on our page.

Having said that, I’m not totally sure of the quality of ecoview windows, if they are now making their own. I would have to do a little bit of research in order to give them the thumbs up. I promise to do so over the next few months, and get back to you, but I have an answer for you!

EcoView 700 Series Vinyl Series

Hi Dane, just got a quote for 14 double hung 7000 series vinyl from EcoView. They say their windows are manufactured by Simonton and equivalent to 5050 series.

Quote was significantly less than Pella, by about $10k. Also, what are your thoughts about impact glass? I am in NE Florida 4 miles inland. Many thanks.

Edie - Homeowner - from 2022

[Website Editor Reply]

Edie, I actually don't know a ton about EcoView, but from what I know, yes, their 7000 series is the Simonton 5050. I definitely prefer the Simonton 5500, which, if I'm not mistaken, is the EcoView 9000 window. This would be my preferred upgrade advise. I'm not a big fan of Pella personally, but Simonton makes a quality windows.

Impact glass is probably a good upgrade for you in your area and proximity to the coast. It is a costly upgrade though...

Large Missile Impact Windows

Hi, got quotes from Home Depot and EcoView for 4 picture windows (2 @ 59"x70", 1@28"x70", 1@43"x70") and 1 single hung window (42"x70"), all meets large missile impact level D and wind zone 4 testing standards.

Home Depot Quote = $10,005 (PGT 5500 Vinyl)

EcoView Quote = $6565 (ViWinTech SL 5100)

Noted that the ViWinTech SL has a DP rating of 70 psf.

Is the EcoView quote a better deal?

Dan - Homeowner - from 2021

[Site Editor's Answer]

Dan, the ViWinTech SL 5100 is a decent impact window and the much better deal here over the PGT for $3500 more. Assuming EcoView has a good reputation for quality installation, this would be my choice for sure.

Ecoview in Southern Alabama

Hello, I am looking to replace the original builder grade windows in my home with solid mid-grade windows. The windows are 3 double 3’x5’ and 1 single 3’x5’ - all single hung. I live in Southern Alabama which is hot, high humidity & lots of wind driven rain. A neighbor has had Ecoview replace their windows and are very happy - Ecoview appears to be Franchise operation for installing their windows. Do you know anything about the windows?

Sharon - Homeowner - from 2018

[Website Editor Reply]

Sharon, I don't know much about EcoView windows. Their website provides little to no information on their windows. EcoView seems to be the brainchild of someone associated with Window World at some point. With only that knowledge, I would assume that the windows are from MI or Alside. Typically, these are not known as the best windows, but perhaps their premium vinyl windows are decent.

Ask the salesman what window they are selling and ask for the performance data on them -- U-factor, air infiltration, design pressure, SHGC and VT. Feel free to send it to me and I'll give you my opinion.

Tim - Site Editor - from 2018

[Sharon's Reply]

Hi Dane, no further information on Eco View windows - the Eco View Windows of Southern Alabama & Florida salesman neither kept our appointment nor called. I said that I required Performance Data on their windows. They are crossed of the list.

I have a bid on Regency Plus “Conservation” windows. The salesman had all demo items to demonstrate that their windows were made of pure, virgin vinyl and were welded not screwed together. Valid points or cheesy window sales tactics? He also suggested sliders for the 3 double 3’x5’ windows to save some money over the double hungs ( their single & double hungs are the same price). The windows did look very substantial but with quite large frames. U-factor .29, solar heat gain 0.19, AI 0.1, VT 0.45. They also meet all of Florida’s stringent codes.

I have really appreciated all the information available here - especially your EcoView windows reviews - I feel that there is someone in my corner. Cheers to you fellows.

Ecoview Windows vs. Showcase And Sunrise

I have a high end house on the market that had Precision Millworks windows that failed. They rotted after 8 yrs and I had active termites. I treated immediately, but now they have to be replaced. They were a PVC material on the outside and wood inside.

The manufacturer won't honor warranty because painter caulked over weep holes...which I can't even see on other windows. They are 3x8 single light windows., low E, tempered (argon insulated)glass.

I have received bids from Sunrise, Ecoview, and Showcase. I am not sure of the quality of them. This is s $1 million plus home. Any suggestions? Must have vinyl probably due to moisture in area less than a mile from Lake Ponchartrain in South Louisiana.
( )Showcase Windows Reviews )

Claire - Homeowner - from 2017

[Site Editor's Answer]

Claire, sorry to hear about your previous windows, that is a very short (and costly) shelf life for windows. So I have never heard of Showcase windows. I looked them up and saw they are part of Earthwise window group, which is a group of smaller manufacturers who have kind of banded together to share manufacturing facilities and marketing mechanisms to help them compete against the larger window companies. In general, they are thought to make a good, but not great, vinyl window.

Ecoview seems to be a local company that makes their own windows and their website provides no performance data on them so I can't say much about them. The site language that they install any replacement window from $199 to $289 leads me to believe they are probably installer entry level replacement windows (in the same vein as a Window World.)

That brings us to Sunrise, which is a very quality window company. I know the rep in New Orleans has a very good reputation as an installer and pays close attention to detail. This is what I would recommend without hesitation. The Sunrise Classic or just Sunrise window is very good and the premium Restorations window is excellent. They also offer interior wood laminates that are pretty impressive and worth a look at the very least. They offer the look of wood, but the durability, cost, and low maintenance of vinyl.

EcoView Windows Bid

HD went to the project address then gave me an estimate that seemed high, so I called Ecoview for another estimate (FYI: HD's estimate was using American Craftsman, not Simonton.). I live in a different area than the project and I think HD took that for granted.

I will meet with Ecoview tomorrow in person. Over the phone, the high end of their estimate came in $500 below HD's American Craftsman window estimate – $1200 below Simonton). At the same time, Ecoview'sphone estimate is on their low end product line, and they will quote the next level up, too. Thanks for your advice!
