What They Sell:

LEI Home Enhancements sells the Revelation Elite series for their replacement windows - often the triple pane option. This is an Alside Window and I would give it a 6.5 rating out of 10. So not the best option in my opinion, but certainly not one of worst window brands out there either.

LEI Home Enhancements Warranty

LEI-HE offers a 50 yr labor warranty that transfers to one new owner if and when you sell the home (but often the company does require you to place a sign in the yard) to get this extended warranty. The window warranty will be based on the actual manufacturer of the window.

LEI Sales Pitch

Have to give LEI some props as we just heard their presentation and they knew their stuff and did not pressure us at all (unlike several other companies that I'm going to not mention out of goodwill). They gave us a bid on the Revelation Elite with triple pane and the total cost came out to $830 per window. We would have to post a sign in the yard, which my wife is not thrilled about, but I was impressed. What do you think?

LEI Home Enhancements Windows vs Window World

Hi Dane! Please can you give me some reviews on LEI HOME ENHANCEMENTS? We are located in Stafford VA. They quoted 17 3 panel windows Revelation Elite window series. Is that a good quote? Please please. I am pressed by the people of window world $14000 for a 2 panel window. ( Window World Reviews )

I think the Revelation window is better than the 2 panel Vytex window world. Your feedback is really important.

[Site Editor's Answer]

Virginia, I don't quite understand the price quotes. I didn't see what LEI quote you for the 17 windows.

I would avoid window world unless you plan to be in your home 10 years or less -- their windows don't tend to last all that long...

Lei Home Improvements gets good reviews, but Alside Revelations aren't at the top of my list for a quality window.

Here is our list of great windows to consider: [List Redacted -- contact us directly (Dane or Tim) for our good and great windows list.]

LEI Home Enhancements Windows Cost

Hi Dane, I have a situation with Alside. We are already in a contract with them, it is well past the 3 day period to rescind the contract. We went into this situation without any knowledge about how or when to purchase windows. Honestly it was the sales guys that come door to door that we were trying to be nice to and was impressed with the Revelation Series triple pane vinyl window that was shown once the guy came to display and give information about windows. It wasn’t too hard to that looking at our builder grade windows of our home of 18 years here in VA. We have not had any problems. However, didn't know if we needed to consider windows, especially with the desire to move within the next 10 years.

We were given a price of about $10,337 for 14 windows. I have been so beside myself after doing the home work that should have been done earlier. Aside’s reputation from everything that I have read online from the BBB to customer reviews have left me feeling nauseous. What also through us off was LEI Home Enhancements who was presenting. They have an A plus rating and Alside has a bad review.

Should we pull out this deal and cut our losses potentially $2,000. We have not received any other estimates. We are waiting on Pella for an estimate on their 250 series window. I met with them yesterday. We are not expected to have windows put in until September at the earliest.

Please Advise! Your expertise would be greatly appreciated and god bless for the LEI Home Enhancements Reviews.

[Site Editor's Answer]

Deme, yes I would try to get out of the contract if possible. But I'm not sure I would if it was going to cost me $2k. I might try the big lie of I've lost my job and we simply don't have the money right now to tackle a problem that isn't front and center. Make sure to say that you are planning to go with them just as soon as you are able -- I don't know, just see if this works. I'm not a lawyer so I don't know the ins and outs of this...

It's not the worst price, but I think there is probably a better window that you can get in that same price range. Assuming it works, then hit me up again and we can go about finding you some good quality bids and get a better understanding of what's available in your area and what prices you might be looking at.

LEI Home Enhancements Price Quote

Hi Dane. Just read your many posts about Alside windows vs other brands. Great content!! We got a quote on Friday from the contractor at LEI Home Enhancements and they install only Alside. The only booklet she left was for the Revelations Premier series, so I assume that is the only series from Alside they install.

One of the main reasons we want new windows is for storm safety. Living in Florida, born and raised here, we are tired of boarding up the windows when hurricanes come. My husband is now in his mid 60's and we don't want to work harder preparing for storms, we want to work smarter. Shuttering up and taking down the windows is a tough job, not to mention having to store a the windows coverings throughout the year.

We live in Central Florida so we don't need to meet Dade County standards and impact-resistant windows seem like overkill being in the center of the state. We moved here from South Florida 10 years ago where we went through several REALLY bad hurricanes. We have 7 windows plus sliding glass door. 1400 sq ft home. We plan on being in the house for at least 10-15 years. The house was built in the mid1980s and windows are original.

Smaller bathroom window will not be clear, there was a word for it but I can't recall it at the time, it's the glass that you can't see through. The three front windows are oriole and two of them will be moulded.

The features we liked most about the Alside windows is that they open from the top and have security locking system built in. We like to have the windows open a lot and it's nice to have them open at the top, which feels safer. The tilt-in ability and the screens that 'rub' back into place seem like good features too. I'm not sure if those features are typical with other manufacturers also.

The quote we got from LEI Home Enhancements is $8576.00. Now that I've been reading your column and some Reddit articles, that quote seems too high. However, LEI has great BBB rating & reviews and keeps 2 subcontractors busy full-time with window installs and we met the installer.

[Website Editor Reply]

Angie, yes I have heard of LEI Home Enhancements. Their bid does sound a bit high--perhaps. The Revelation window is often quoted at a high rate and I'm not convinced it's worth it.

Best thing to do is get some comparison quotes. You may want to look for storm/hurricane windows, which do cost quite a bit more. Here are my recommendations for storm windows.

Sunrise Coastal series, Soft-Lite Barcelona Impact Series, Soft-Lite Armor Impact Series, PGT WinGuard series, Stanek UltraExtreme series, CWS Windpact series, and the Simonton Stormbreaker series.

Here are some recommendations for non-storm windows in Florida.

Polaris ThermalWeld, Soft-Lite Classic, Soft-Lite Pro, Kensington Huntington, Vytex Fortis, PGT 2300, PGT 5400, Simonton Stormbreaker Plus.

Google "Sunrise windows in Central Florida" for instance and see if a local company comes up that carries them. With the above list, you should be Abel to find quite a few companies who carry some good brands.

Bid From LEI home Enhancement

Hi, I got a quote from LEI home enhancement to replace 8 windows (Alside Revelation Platinum triple pane) for $9500 (includes install, tax and their warranty).

I live on a busy/noisy street and the house was a flip (new windows but not high quality). Triple pane is attractive due to noise reduction and the current windows are drafty so looking for efficiency too.

I’m in the Pacific Northwest — Thanks.

[Site Editor's Answer]

Juliette, I don't know a ton about LEI Home Enhancements, except that they appear to be a franchise or something like this. Honestly, the structure of the company might be something else, but I haven't spent enough time to figure out what it is exactly. Something about this gives me a hinky feeling. When I put in "lei home enhancements reviews yelp" into google and search, I find some less than stellar reviews across the country. Some of the reviews are five stars where they have one or two reviewers, but the more reviews they have, the much lower the score.

The price you were quoted for eight windows sounds very high to me. The Alside Revelation Platinum triple pane is a solid window, but I don't think its worth $1200 plus per window.

Before you jump in with LEI, I would suggest getting a couple more bids to see how the bid prices compare to one another. You could see if Anlin Windows services your area—their Del Mar and Catalina series are quite good. Milgard makes a decent window and their new Trinsic series is an attractive mid range vinyl window. A high end Simonton, like a Reflections 5500 or their Impressions 9800 series are also solid performers. Finally, Amerimax might have a dealer in your area who could give you a quote on their Craftsman Portrait and Aristocrat Series, which are also quite good.

I would rate all of the windows I mentioned in the same quality range as the Alside Revelation Platinum. I would be very interested to see how the prices compare. I think you can get a better deal than what you have. Let me know how it goes!

LEI Home Enhancements / Revelation Windows

Has rep from LEI Home Enhancements visit with promo offer for sign in yard, quoted 19 various sized double hung Alside Revelation Series Windows (11 requiring tempered glass) for $13,942 (everything included plus 50 year & lifetime warranties.

Does this sound reasonable? It's $733/window on average for all windows and installation. We signed up but have until midnight Sat to change our mind. Thoughts on the window quality, Alside or LEI that we should know?

Chris - Homeowner - from 2016

[Site Editor's Response]

Chris, I tend to think Alside Revelation is overpriced, but that's just me. Tempered glass certainly adds to the cost. You may want to get another bid to compare it to, it sounds like the deadline is fast approaching. I looked at the LEI Home Enhancements Reviews on google and there seemed to be some disturbing ones, with several that used the term pyramid scheme. I don't like the sound of that.

If it were me, I would start with a bid from the local Okna rep – Okna is one of the best vinyl windows out there and I would think for $733 per window you could get their 800 series – it's the best vinyl window available in my opinion.
