The company manufactures and sells vinyl windows and doors that use rehau vinyl mainframes, which are considered very good quality. This quality is reflected in the performance data of the windows, which the company posts on their website (which I love - transparency). My Take On This Company: While their vinyl windows aren't all that nice looking (they appear sort of fuddy duddy to me), there is no denying the company makes a very good window and door. Absolutely worth a bid for those homeowners who have a Minnkota dealer in their area.

Minnkota Windows Warranty

The company offers quite a strong warranty. It is a limited lifetime warranty on the mainframe nad insulated glass unit being free from manufacturing defects. Exterior frame coatings are warranted for 15 years. They include an accidental glass breakage provision for the first 20 years. In addition, they will pay the freight and labor costs for the repair work for 20 years. The warranty can be transferred one time and the new owner must have a warranty registration and a title transfer certificate on file w/ Minnkota.

Minnkota vs Thermo Tech Windows

I have a bid from Thermo-Tech on their Energy Guard High Performance that they say matches the Alpen Tyrol series. The Thermo-Tech cost is $8.k, while the Alpen cost is $9.5K. This is for 7 windows with installation. Also have a Minnkota windows bid that is quite a bit less so I'm curious as to your thoughts.

Robert, you have three good companies in the mix so far. If the Minnkota bid is quite a bit less, then I would seriously consider them. While I don't find their windows to be the most modern looking, they are certainly well made and when it comes down to it, that's the most important point (my wife would disagree on this point, but that's a different story). I love Alpen windows HPP, but unless this is your forever home, I think the bid is probably cost prohibitive when compared with the other two.
