YKK AP Window Warranty

Overall, the YKK warranty is not all that impressive. It is a lifetime limited warranty that guarantees that their windows and doors be free from manufacturing defects for as long as the original owner lives in the home. The warranty covers labor repair and/or replacement costs for two years after the installation date. The warranty is NOT transferrable to any new owner. Therefor as soon as you move, the warranty is gone. There are a bunch of exclusion and provisions so make sure to always read the fine print prior to purchase.

YKK Windows Cost

YKK AP is right in that mid range price wise when compared to the entire vinyl window cost spectrum. So say a 4 to 6 out of 10 when compared with all other manufacturers.

YKK Windows Reviews

Dane: I have YKK windows and have had nothing but problems since installing them. YKK replaced all of my windows 3 years after they were originally installed because they leaked air and water during high winds, but they are still having the same problems as the original windows. I would definitely look for another alternative, even if it takes more time.

YKK AP vs Jeld Wen

Hi Dane, we are building a new house here in Charlotte NC. Our specification calls out Jeld-Wen single hung windows, but the pandemic has caused Jeld-Wen problems such that our builder would like to substitute YKK AP StyleView windows instead. I haven’t had much luck finding information about the quality, longevity etc. of these windows. Any information and advice you can provide would be much appreciated.

Jeff, I know little about YKK AP windows. Personally, I would not put a window in my house that has no visibility, reviews, etc.

If you were looking at Jeld Wen, I would turn my attention to a Ply Gem Pro or a Simonton 9800 impressions. Good mid range windows and honestly better than a Jeld Wen single hung. Your builder should have access to a Simonton or a Ply Gem window.

This would be my advise. If you do find any info on YKK AP windows, I'd love to know so I can do some research for future consumers.
