YKK AP Windows sells three main window and door series, which include their standard Precedence vinyl series, their upgraded StyleView premium vinyl series, and the StyleGuard impact window and door series. The company generally earns positive reviews for product quality and commercial expertise, although homeowner opinions are somewhat limited and warranty coverage is less competitive than many vinyl window brands. Overall, the YKK warranty is not all that impressive. It is a lifetime limited warranty that guarantees that their windows and doors be free from manufacturing defects for as long as the original owner lives in the home. The warranty covers labor repair and/or replacement costs for two years after the installation date. The warranty is NOT transferrable to any new owner. Therefor as soon as you move, the warranty is gone. There are a bunch of exclusion and provisions so make sure to always read the fine print prior to purchase.

YKK AP window prices range from low-end to mid-range when compared to the entire vinyl window cost spectrum. Say a 4 to 6 out of 10 when compared with all other manufacturers. Consumers can expect to pay $400 to $750 per window installed for a medium size window with retrofit installation.

"Searching around for new construction windows, but not willing to spend an arm and a leg. My main priority is good overall value with a good price tag my budget is tight. My windows are generally 36 x 60 and don’t care if it’s a single or double hung window. This is what I’ve found - window cost only

Tanya, it’s too bad you’re on a budget because that Marvin window price is really good for a fiberglass window. I would go with the Ply Gem pro myself. This is a good window and assuming you can get the installation for $350 per window you’re in $720 per window. That’s a fair price for a good window. Good overall value with a good price tag. Mission accomplished.

YKK replaced all of my windows 3 years after they were originally installed because they leaked air and water during high winds, but they are still having the same problems as the original windows. I would definitely look for another alternative, even if it takes more time."

"Hi Dane, we are building a new house here in Charlotte NC. Our specification calls out Jeld-Wen single hung windows, but the pandemic has caused Jeld-Wen problems such that our builder would like to substitute YKK AP StyleView windows instead. I haven’t had much luck finding information about the quality, longevity etc. of these windows. Any information and advice you can provide would be much appreciated.

Jeff, I know little about YKK AP windows. Personally, I would not put a window in my house that has no visibility, reviews, etc.
If you were looking at Jeld Wen, I would turn my attention to a Ply Gem Pro or a Simonton 9800 impressions. Good mid range windows and honestly better than a Jeld Wen single hung. Your builder should have access to a Simonton or a Ply Gem window.
This would be my advise. If you do find any info on YKK AP windows, I'd love to know so I can do some research for future consumers.
