Tim, I am replacing 15 double hung windows with vinyl. I am looking at residing at this house for 5 more years or so. The house is located in Chantilly, VA.
Here is a summary of the offers I have received:
KHPP Genesis (U= .27; SHGC = .21): $8,524
Provia Aspect (U= .27: SHGC = .25): $9,200
Sunrise Restorations (U = .24; SHGC = .25) : $12,450
What do you think is the better Value, cost and other factors considered?

Roger, if you are only going to be in your home for 5 years, I would suggest going with the lowest cost option. Normally, this means going with a sub par window, but in your case you don't have to sacrifice at all. The KHPP Genesis is a very solid window. Assuming this is paired up with good installation, you will be well served!

Hi Dane - I am hoping you can extend the courtesy of reviewing my information below. I have to make a big decision on my own and do not have a trusted resource.
I live in a home I love, built in 1903. I have been setting aside money to slowly replace the existing, deteriorating replacement windows.
My budget is extremely limited
I reached out to a local, reputable company that gave me a quote of 6 Double hung windows
Local Small Co. Genesis Windows by KHPP Mfg $4610
vs
Home Depot Simonton 6500 $5300.00
I am a little hesitant to hire Home Depot fearful if there is an issue I will not be able to contact the contractor.
I would truly appreciate your feedback, I was unable to find reviews for the Genesis that didn't look like paid endorsements and I read one review saying the Simonton windows sold exclusively for Home depot were simply OK.
My gut says to go with the family owned business. This is such a big purchase for me and I would like to make a decision I am confident with.

Lisa, the Home Depot option is just okay, but not one that I would go for myself. The much better deal is the Genesis Windows by KHPP for $4610. A good window for sure.
If your budget is limited, you might want to gather a couple more bids to see if there is a better deal out there. Here is my list:

KHPP Genesis Price vs. Okna Insul-Tec 500DX
Hi Dane and Tim, if you're willing, I'd love your thoughts on my choice between two windows.
We bought a house in Richmond, VA in 2016, and are replacing the 1969 wood windows it was built with. We've gotten estimates from a number of companies, and have narrowed our search down to two reputable construction companies that recommend two different windows.
We got estimates for 14 double hung, 2 small casement windows in our bathrooms, and a 25%/50%/25% casement/picture/casement combo window. Same grids/screens/etc. between the two estimates.
The estimates came out to:
Okna 500DX - $12,759
Kensington (KHPP) Genesis - $12,540
The salesperson for the company that uses the KHPP made a big deal about the fact that they don't use mica in their manufacturing, but I don't know if that matters as much as he suggested. Would you recommend one over the other?

Andy, I don't know as much about KHPP as I would like. I know they have the Genesis, Ascent and Meridian series, with the Genesis being their entry level offering. While a very good window for their base model, I don't think it can compete with the Okna 500DX with it's .02 air infiltration. I would opt for the Okna option here over the KHPP Genesis option.
Both companies use quality vinyl extrusions in their frames.
