Patio Door Prices 2026

Patio door prices can range anywhere from $1500 to $7000 fully installed. As you might imagine, pricing is often all over the place for a for of reasons, which includes local dealer price quote variation, sizes of the doors, materials, and where you live. Because of the pricing variability (even more so than windows), always collect 5 to 6 bids on patio doors. This ought to insure that you find a fair and equitable bid (hopefully multiple bids).

Patio Door Replacement Cost Factors

Let's dig a bit deeper into why patio doors replacement costs are so all over the board. Specifically, into how private company bids work, the size of the company you hire, and where you live.

Patio Door Prices

Private Company Bids

The biggest reason is this: local companies are free to bid out whatever projects at whatever price they see fit. This means that half of your bids aren't going to be reasonable enough to consider. Therefore, you'll want to toss these out in favor of the bids that are in the acceptable price range. However, if you don't collect a number of bids, you're taking a big chance of getting taken to the cleaners by certain local window and door companies.

Bottom Line: Collecting a handful of bids let's you toss the ridiculous bids and concentrate on the reasonable one.

Size Of The Company

Larger (and/or well known) window and door companies often charge higher than normal prices. This is either because they have high overhead costs or they have enough business to justify these higher than normal prices. However, some consumers like the security of going with a more established company and are happy to pay more for the security and warranty that they might receive. Conversely, smaller door installation companies will often charge lower installation rates. As long as these companies maintain good to great online reviews, you are good to go and will often save some of your hard earned money.

Bottom Line: The larger the company, the higher the price, but maybe the better reputation.

Where You Live

Typically, the more rural the location, the less expensive the patio door installation costs. The cost of the door itself is going to be the same regardless of where you live. Alternatively, if you live in a big city like Chicago or New York, the cost of living is higher and therefore the installation costs will be higher.

Bottom Line: Urban locations means higher installation costs.

Patio Door Warranties

Typically, a one to two year labor warranty is acceptable from any installation company as the overwhelmingly installation warranty issues crop up in the first. Most patio sliders and French doors will carry a 20 year warranty on the frame, glass, components and parts. Not always the case, but a good rule of thumb. Many installers offers a one, two, or five year warranty on the labor portion - meaning they will cover the labor cost of replacing a door with a manufacturing defect (or install problem).

Cost Of The Doors And Installation

The general rule of thumb for doors and windows is that the installation accounts for one third of the total price tag. The patio door itself will account for the remaining two thirds of patio door prices.

Alside Mezzo vs Wincore Window Quotes

Project Type: Two-panel sliding patio door
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Data Source: 2026 Homeowner Quote Comparison

CWS vs PGT Sliding Patio Door Quotes

111" x 81" Two-Panel Sliding Patio Door Comparison
Patio Door Series Installed Price Difference From Lowest Quote
CWS 8800 Two-Panel Sliding Door $5,500 Lowest quote
PGT Sliding Patio Door $7,200 $1,700 more

"Dane, thanks for your response and for all of your Alside Mezzo windows reviews. We have 32 windows if you remember (I don't expect you to - ha). Window World was about $9000 more than my $28k bid and it was a Wincore double hung but I don’t know the series. WW here in Jax, FL also sells a lot of the Alside double hung. The bid I have for $31k is from an installer who is considered one of the best installers in the city. He says he has the Mezzo single hung and likes it. I am open to another brand if it makes sense.

Does the sliding door price look good as well as the total prices I gave you for the North Florida area? It seem to me it is. I know the 2 I’m considering can get PGT windows also.

The $28k bid also can add a CWS 8800 series 2 panel sliding door (111x81) for $5500. The $31k bid quoted a PGT slider for the space at $7200. He said the CWS and PGT are very similar doors. I get the sense the Mezzo isn’t your favorite. Would love to get your thoughts on it all. Thank you so much for your time.

Thanks for your help!"
Danny, Homeowner - from 2026

Editor's Advice:

Danny, I like top rated installers! If they really believe in the Mezzo and will be there for you in 12 years if something should go wrong, then that is a solid option...

Patio door prices are all over the place in general. I obviously like the CWS price more than the PGT - I have heard that PGT pricing in the past few years has been particularly high.

CWS Windows Reviews

Can never hurt to get the PGT bid, just for comparison sake. Different dealers get all sorts of different pricing so the more bids the better as far as I'm concerned.

How Much Do Patio Doors Cost

Project Type: Patio Doors, Security Doors, And Storm Doors
Location: Kentucky
Data Source: 2026 Homeowner Experience

Window Series Total Quote Installed Average Installed Cost
Andersen Patio Door Project $36,000 Two patio sliders, two security doors, and two storm doors
Large Andersen Window Project $80,000 to $120,000 Large whole-house replacement project

"To put premium window pricing into perspective, a homeowner I know in Kentucky was quoted well into six figures for a large-scale replacement project. After several rounds of negotiation, the final contract came down substantially, but it still represented a significant investment compared to most competing window brands."

"I've encountered similar sticker shock myself. One Andersen pricing proposal I received for a relatively modest project that included two patio sliders, two security doors, and two storm doors came in at roughly $36,000. While Andersen products have a strong reputation for quality, their pricing often places them among the most expensive options available to homeowners."

Cynthia - Homeowner - from 2026

Editor's Advice:

Premium patio doors and replacement windows can vary tremendously in cost depending on the manufacturer, product line, glass package, and installation requirements. Renewal By Andersen prices are generally some of the most expensive options on the market, so homeowners should always compare multiple bids before making a final decision.

ProVia Fiberglass Patio Door Cost

Project Type: 2 Replacement Windows And 1 Fiberglass Patio Door
Location: Not Provided
Data Source: 2026 Homeowner Question

Simonton Windows And ProVia Fiberglass Patio Door Quote
Product Total Quote Installed Project Details
Simonton Replacement Windows $6,600 2 windows; approximately $3,300 per window
ProVia Fiberglass Patio Door $5,600 7 foot fiberglass door with oval glass insert and tempered glass side panel

"I have 2 windows one is 100 x 40 and one 40 x 60. Simonton windows quoted me $6600 which seems incredibly high. They also quoted for a 7 foot ProVia fiberglass door with oval glass insert and glass side panel (both tempered). This was $5600 totally installed - fair?"

Jeffrey, Homeowner - from 2026

Editor's Advice:

Jeffrey, at first glance the $6600 for two windows does seem very high. However, you have to consider that the 100 x 40 window likely requires some sort of XO or custom configuration to adequately span the opening.

Fiberglass patio doors can also become very expensive depending on the size, glass package, and whether the door requires custom sizing. The ProVia price quote does not strike me as outlandish because ProVia manufactures very high quality doors, but custom dimensions and tempered sidelights can quickly raise the cost.

This is definitely one of those projects where collecting multiple bids can really help because different manufacturers offer different standard sizing options that may significantly reduce the final project price.

Okna 500DX Price Quote

Project Type: 22 Replacement Windows And 1 Patio Door

Data Source: 2018 Homeowner Quote

Okna 500DX vs Soft-Lite Elements Project Quote
Window Series Total Quote Installed Average Project Cost
Okna 500DX Windows And Patio Door $17,000 Approximately $739 per opening across 23 total openings
Soft-Lite Elements Windows And Patio Door $18,500 Approximately $804 per opening across 23 total openings

"I got a quote on 22 Okna 500 DX windows and a single patio door for $17,000."

"At the same time, I got a quote for the same project from a Soft-Lite dealer using the Elements window for $18,500."

"Decided to go with the Okna bid based on the price difference and the fact that $17,000 is right at the top of my budget for this whole thing. I feel good about it."

Karen, Homeowner

Editor's Advice:

Karen, the Okna 500 DX is a very good window, and the quote looks solid when spread across 22 windows and one patio door. The Soft-Lite Elements is also an excellent product, but if the Okna dealer has strong reviews and the installation details check out, I think choosing the lower bid makes sense here.

I agree that $17,000 is nothing to sneeze at, but between these two options, the Okna window bid looks like the better overall value. Good luck on your remodel!
