Patio Door Prices 2026
Patio door prices can range anywhere from $1500 to $6000 fully installed. As you might imagine, pricing is often all over the place for a for of reasons, which we'll detail below. This is why I always suggest collecting a handful of bids. I usually suggest 3 to 4 bids on replacement windows and 5 to 6 bids on patio doors. This ought to insure that you find a fair and equitable bid (hopefully multiple bids).

Patio Door Replacement Cost Factors
Let's dig a bit deeper into why patio doors replacement costs are so all over the board. Specifically, into how private company bids work, the size of the company you hire, and where you live.
Private Company Bids
The biggest reason is this: local companies are free to bid out whatever projects at whatever price they see fit. This means that half of your bids aren't going to be reasonable enough to consider. Therefore, you'll want to toss these out in favor of the bids that are in the acceptable price range. However, if you don't collect a number of bids, you're taking a big chance of getting taken to the cleaners by certain local window and door companies.
Bottom Line: Collecting a handful of bids let's you toss the ridiculous bids and concentrate on the reasonable one.
Size Of The Company
Larger (and/or well known) window and door companies often charge higher than normal prices. This is either because they have high overhead costs or they have enough business to justify these higher than normal prices. However, some consumers like the security of going with a more established company and are happy to pay more for the security and warranty that they might receive. Conversely, smaller door installation companies will often charge lower installation rates. As long as these companies maintain good to great online reviews, you are good to go and will often save some of your hard earned money.
Bottom Line: The larger the company, the higher the price, but maybe the better reputation.
Where You Live
Typically, the more rural the location, the less expensive the patio door installation costs. The cost of the door itself is going to be the same regardless of where you live. Alternatively, if you live in a big city like Chicago or New York, the cost of living is higher and therefore the installation costs will be higher.
Bottom Line: Urban locations means higher installation costs.
Patio Door Warranties
Typically, a one to two year labor warranty is acceptable from any installation company as the overwhelmingly installation warranty issues crop up in the first. Most patio sliders and French doors will carry a 20 year warranty on the frame, glass, components and parts. Not always the case, but a good rule of thumb. Many installers offers a one, two, or five year warranty on the labor portion - meaning they will cover the labor cost of replacing a door with a manufacturing defect (or install problem).
Cost Of The Doors
The general rule of thumb for doors and windows is that the installation accounts for one third of the total price tag. The patio door itself will account for the remaining two thirds of patio door prices.

ProVia Fiberglass Patio Door Cost
| Product | Total Quote Installed | Project Details |
|---|---|---|
| Simonton Replacement Windows | $6,600 | 2 windows; approximately $3,300 per window |
| ProVia Fiberglass Patio Door | $5,600 | 7 foot fiberglass door with oval glass insert and tempered glass side panel |
"I have 2 windows one is 100 x 40 and one 40 x 60. Simonton windows quoted me $6600 which seems incredibly high. They also quoted for a 7 foot ProVia fiberglass door with oval glass insert and glass side panel (both tempered). This was $5600 totally installed - fair?"
Jeffrey, Homeowner - from 2026
Editor's Advice:
Jeffrey, at first glance the $6600 for two windows does seem very high. However, you have to consider that the 100 x 40 window likely requires some sort of XO or custom configuration to adequately span the opening.
Fiberglass patio doors can also become very expensive depending on the size, glass package, and whether the door requires custom sizing. The ProVia price quote does not strike me as outlandish because ProVia manufactures very high quality doors, but custom dimensions and tempered sidelights can quickly raise the cost.
This is definitely one of those projects where collecting multiple bids can really help because different manufacturers offer different standard sizing options that may significantly reduce the final project price.

Okna 500DX Price Quote
| Window Series | Total Quote Installed | Average Project Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Okna 500DX Windows And Patio Door | $17,000 | Approximately $739 per opening across 23 total openings |
| Soft-Lite Elements Windows And Patio Door | $18,500 | Approximately $804 per opening across 23 total openings |
"I got a quote on 22 Okna 500 DX windows and a single patio door for $17,000."
"At the same time, I got a quote for the same project from a Soft-Lite dealer using the Elements window for $18,500."
"Decided to go with the Okna bid based on the price difference and the fact that $17,000 is right at the top of my budget for this whole thing. I feel good about it."
Karen, Homeowner
Editor's Advice:
Karen, the Okna 500 DX is a very good window, and the quote looks solid when spread across 22 windows and one patio door. The Soft-Lite Elements is also an excellent product, but if the Okna dealer has strong reviews and the installation details check out, I think choosing the lower bid makes sense here.
I agree that $17,000 is nothing to sneeze at, but between these two options, the Okna window bid looks like the better overall value. Good luck on your remodel!
