Ray, I think if you're in the home longer than 12 years you go with the Okna. Less than 12 years and I think the WU makes a lot more sense.

Window Universe Price List Orlando Quote

Hello, I would like to get your opinion about Window Universe Orlando. They quoted Berkshire Elite, Argon gas, triple pane, double strength, interior mullions, screen, install and exterior trim replacement at just over $700 per window. Is this a decent price from a reliable company ( they seem to get mixed reviews, but generally positive) Thanks.

Bill, that's a very fair price on a pretty good window. $700 for the Berkshire Elite, triple pane, and to install and exterior trim replacement is a very fair indeed. I would say that if the installation company has good to great reviews/ratings, then you have a very solid bid. Get a couple more and then see where you are at....

Windows Universe Costs

Hello Dane, thanks for replying to my earlier emails. I finally have all my quotes and I’m ready to make a decision. The house needs 24 windows (mostly casement) and 2 sliding door walls.

The quotes I have received:

Renewal by Anderson - $62,000
Pella 250 Series - $54,663
Sunrise Vanguard - $45,997
MI Windows - $32,000
Windows Universe - $26,000

Any thoughts on the value for money on these quotes? We are likely to stay in our home for a good number of years and we are very interested in quality windows. However, we also don’t want to pay unnecessarily. I am leaning towards the Pella or Sunrise but would love your thoughts. I am also waiting on a quote from Marvin but not sure I want to go that route.

Shailen, my first choice would be the Sunrise Vanguard for $45,997. This is by far the best value of the bunch if you are looking for a very good window that will last for a long long time. The next option would be the Windows Universe for $26,000, but that would be a far second...the Marvin price quote is probably going to be quite pricey...

Window Universe Express Bid

Hello Dane, I have found your site very useful so far. I’m in the process of bidding out getting a five pane bow window replaced. These are the quotes I have got so far

Renewal by Andersen $17,000

Pella Wood clad costs $14000 and $17000 for the fiberglass.

Window universe express 2 revere casement and 3 Berkshire elite picture window with triple pane tempered glass U factor is .21 for that model with a .04 air leakage. $7700.

Obviously the price for the window universe is much nicer but is that a quality product? I live in Michigan, could you recommend a brand you would go with if you lived in MI? I’m getting a quote from champion next week as well.

Window Universe Price Bid

Hello, I have 27 windows, all shapes and sizes, including some half and quarter circles, and a sliding door that need replacing, I have been given quotes anywhere from $25k to $113k. The $113k was renewal by Anderson and the $25k was from Window Universe with a Berkshire Elite windows with the triple pane glass and highest energy rating they offer. I cannot do the Andersen so I am back to looking at vinyl. Can you just tell me what is a good vinyl window and installer? Is the Berkshire Elite a good window?

I live in Atlanta, GA area and have quotes for 17 vinyl replacement w and outdoor trim. 16 are double-hungs, and one is a large picture window. We plan on staying in our home for 5 years, but would like something will hold its value.

Apex Energy Solutions: $11,500 with triple pane glass

Window Universe: $13,500 with double pane glass

Soft-Lite Nirvana: $15,500 with double pane glass

I'm leaning toward the Window Universe, mainly because I have a good friends who used them and had a very good experience.

Rob, Window Universe sells a Revere Berkshire Elite window, which is a rebranded Alside Mezzo. Apex sells an Insignia, which is a rebranded Alside 8000 series.

The Alside 8000 series would be the call over the Mezzo in my opinion.
