ProVia got their start as a door company (see below for how many door series they manufacture and sell). They eventually moved into the window space and started making some quality series. Slowly but surely, they have made a name for themselves as a quality manufacturer.

Okna Windows And Doors has been in the window and door game since 1994, and has, for the most part, kept a pretty low profile. It’s a shame because Okna makes some of the best vinyl windows and doors you can buy. They enjoy an excellent reputation in the industry and will continue to do so for decades to come.

What They Sell

Both ProVia and Okna sell a nice number of unique window and doors series. ProVia sells four main window series, which includes the Endure (premium vinyl), Aspect (their drop down vinyl), Aeris (wood interior, vinyl exterior), and ecoLite (affordable vinyl series). The company sells patio doors in each of these same series. In addition, they sell four options for entry doors and five options for storm doors. ProVia doors are arguable the best in the business.

Okna sells seven window / door series in total. These include the Precision Weld 400, Insul-Tec 500, Eco Pro 600, 700 Casement/Awning, Enviro-Star 800, Starmark 900, and their Elegante patio doors.

How They Market

ProVia and Okna market and sell their windows and doors in much the same way. Both of the companies sell almost exclusively through local companies who rep the brands to residential customers. Their geographical availability is quite similar, with the majority of their business concentrated in the mid west and north eastern regions of the U.S.

ProVia windows cost are going to be toward the top of the vinyl window price range - I listed it as 7 to 9 out of 10. Endure (9), Aspect (8), ecoLite (7), Aeris (7, compared to other wood clad windows).

Okna windows prices are going to be a tad bit more expensive than ProVia on the whole - I listed it as 7 to 10 out of 10. 800 (10), 600 (9), 500 (7), Starmark (9.5, compared to other composite windows).

Evan, I would give the nod to Okna over ProVia in terms of vinyl windows. not by a huge amount, but I do think they make a superior window overall. The Okna 800 DX is better than the provia endure. Both excellent products though.

Warranty Comparisons

Dane, Thanks so much for your insights. From a warranty point of view, an I understanding correctly that the Lifetime non transferable warranty on the ProVia windows is poor because it only covers the original purchaser for their lifetime only?

So if the purchases gets hit by a beer truck the day after installation, then the warranty immediately ends? That doesn't sound like a very good warranty compared to the OKNA transferable lifetime warranty or even the Harvey window 20 year glass warranty and lifetime vinyl and component warranty.
