What They Sell

Albany Door Company doors are available in two options / materials - fiberglass and steel. Additionally, consumers can choose from other textured or smooth in either of these materials. From here, the company offers lots of design options and configurations for consumers to choose from. An impressive lineup in my opinion.

Albany Door Warranty

The company offers a limited lifetime warranty on their fiberglass doors and a limited 15 year warrnrty on their steel doors. Essentially, this applies to any manufacturing defects. The company does not cover any labor costs for the replacement or repair under the warranty. These costs will almost always be covered by the installation company that you hire to do the actual work. Additionally, their entry doors include a 10 year warranty term for the glass and frames, as well as 7 years on any factory paint or stain.

Albany Door Company Prices

Hi Dane. Curious if you’ve heard anything any Albany Door Company? They came up on my radar when we received a price quote from a local company that uses and installs their entry doors. So we got a bid on an entry door from them that came out to $4500. Does that seem high to you?

It does include the installation, which they refused to break out for us -- that would have been helpful. Grrr.

On the face of it, yes, that does sound expensive for an entry door, but I would caution that trying to judge prices without knowing the details is nearly impossible. The only real way to know if the price they quoted is fair or not is to collect several additional bids as comparison points. If you wanted to collect a couple more bids and send them my way, I’m more than happy to give you a much better informed analysis of your window options.

Price Quote On Door

Would you say that Albany Door company is good enough to get a bid from? My husband and I need a front and back door and this is the company that comes up online for us. A local dealer gave us a price quote which came out to $3800 per door including installation. What would you say to this? Deal or no deal?

Lindsay, Albany Door Company just came on my radar to be honest so my working knowledge of their products and services is just at ts beginning stage. Having said that I did look at their website and was impressed generally with what I saw. So I would say you should get a bid — which you already did.

As to the price bid, that seems generally fair I would say. However, without more bids to compare this to, it’s impossible to say definitely deal or no deal. I’m inclined to say deal, but let’s get more info and bids and then let’s make that determination.

Albany Door

Dane, we are replacing five patio doors (all standard 6 foot tall) and have begun to collect price quotes from a handful of local companies. Curious to get your take on what we have collected thus far. The price quotes are for one door with install cost and all related costs.

ProVia Vinyl Doors (Endure series I believe): $4600
PlastPro (unsure which series): $3500
Albany Door (fiberglass series): $4200
Vinylmax Highpointe Doors: $3800
SoftLite (unsure which series): $4500

Thanks in advance for your help with this. Appreciate you and your helping out newbs like myself :)

Deandra, all of the price quotes you have are about what I would expect from a per door cost and also in relationship to one another. So for me the question of which is the best bid should depend on two factors. The first, and probably the most important, is which of the companies that’s going to actually install is going to do the best job.

I would make a list of these using the aggregation of online reviews of the install companies. The next question would be how long are you planning to live in the home. If it’s longer than 15 years then I’d go with the ProVia or Soft-Lite doors. Less than this and I’d go with the Vinylmax or Albany. If it’s less than five years I would go with the PlastPro doors.
