Coughlin Windows Reviews 2026
Coughlin Windows And Doors is an Escondido, California based installation company that has been in the industry since 2008. As the name indicates, the company specializes in installing replacement windows and patio door installation throughout much of north San Diego county (Escondido is located some 45 minutes north of downtown - thank you very much google maps). Generally, the company receives good to quite good consumer reviews. However, besides Simonton windows and doors, I'm still struggling to understand what window and patio door brands they carry and install. Scroll down to read all of our Coughlin windows reviews.

Our Verdict: Coughlin Windows And Doors seem like a quality outfit for homeowners living in north county San Diego. These guys are certainly worth a price quotes, even though their main brand, Simonton, doesn't top my list for high quality vinyl windows and doors. Nonetheless, collect the bid and see how Coughlin stacks up to other local window companies in the area.

What They Carry And Install
Which windows and door brands does Coughlin Windows And Doors carry and install? Coughlin is a certified rep for Simonton Windows And Doors, which I think of as a decent brand. They aren't the flashiest products in the space, but they do tend to last quite a while and they look fine (but stick with their more premium series). Besides Simonton, I can't find any additional brands on the company's site, which is odd because they claim to install aluminum, fiberglass and wood clad windows. Simonton manufactures only vinyl windows so obviously they rep other companies.
Coughlin Windows And Doors Warranty
What kind of warranty does Coughlin Windows & Doors offer their customers? According to the company website, they offer the original buyer a lifetime labor warranty. This means that if there are any install or product issues or defects, that they company will replace or repair the products at no charge - including all window installation labor costs. Additionally, they offer an accidental glass breakage provision, which is quite nice. The products warranty comes directly from the manufacturer themselves. Simonton vinyl windows and doors offers a quality warranty in my opinion. We have a write up on it if you use this link for our window warranty page.

"Greetings from San Diego - looking for window recommendations in North county that will get the job done and not break the bank. Not sure if you have any opinions on our little nook down here, but if so please share. Peace. Out."
Lenny, Homeowner Lenny, I have a couple of recommendations for you. Newman Windows, BM Windows, and Coughlin. These companies sell Milgard and Simonton, which will get the job done and not break the bank. San Diego is such a mild climate that you can get away with a well made Simonton from Coughlin and be just fine. As always collect 3 to four bids and send them my way and I’m happy to give you my opinion on what you’ve got. Dane — Website Editor

Editor's Advice:
Coughlin Windows San Diego
| Window Series | Total Quote Installed | Average Installed Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Simonton Windows | Not provided | Pricing roughly half of Renewal By Andersen quote |
| Coughlin Windows Installation | Not provided | Approximately $2,000 less than Window World |
"We’re based in San Marcos and hired Coughlin for our window replacement project in San Diego (45 minutes north). Overall, we were very satisfied with the company and the work they did. We had 24 windows and one sliding door replaced with Simonton (can’t remember off hand the series), and their pricing came in at roughly half of what a local Renewal By Anderson quoted us and about $2,000 less than Window World."
"Another big advantage for us was their availability. While Anderson and Window World were scheduling installations about six months out, Coughlin was the only company that made an effort to get us on the calendar much sooner. On installation day, we had a minor manufacturing issues. However, the team addressed everything promptly and had it resolved within a week. In the end, they were professional, responsive, and completed the project efficiently and to our satisfaction."

San Diego Window Replacement Cost
| Project Detail | Quoted Cost | Editor Takeaway |
|---|---|---|
| Double-Pane Window Quotes | $9,600 to $13,500 installed | Works out to roughly $1,067 to $1,500 per opening |
| Triple-Pane Upgrade | Approximately $15,500 installed | Likely unnecessary for San Diego’s mild climate |
| Existing Window Condition | Original 1970s single-pane windows | Poor frame or opening conditions could increase the installed cost |
"We recently purchased a 1970s single-story ranch style home in North County San Diego, and it still has the original windows. They’re in truly terrible shape — single-pane, many of them cracked, losing a ton of heat - literally can feel it leaving the house. For now, we’ve put up some plastic as a stopgap measure, but realistically they need to be replaced asap. Certainly before the winter hits (not like the winters are bad, but still…)"
"So far, we’ve gotten quotes from Coughlin and Pelican Windows, and my girlfriend and I are honestly blown away by the pricing. For eight double-pane windows plus one picture window, we were quoted $9,600 on the low end and $13,500 on the high end. Triple-pane pricing went up to $15,500. Is that just what window replacement costs these days? Has anyone managed to find a better deal?"
Renee, Homeowner
Editor's Advice:
Renee, on the plus side, I don’t think you need to go with triple pane windows in San Diego. That’s overkill in my opinion. Both of those quotes are pretty high, but it’s pretty tough to guess price quotes. In all likelihood you need work done to the frames if the windows are in poor shape. This can really jack up your per window cost.
My advice is to continue to collect quotes and make sure that the bids are all in the same price range. You’re always going to get outliers so keep going until you either find a great bid or are convinced that the price points are fair market price.
