Desert King Windows is a Phoenix, Arizona based replacement window and door installation company. The company has been around since the early 2000s and today serves all of Arizona, as well as the metro markets of Las Vagas and San Antonio, Texas. Desert King carries a number of different brands, including Andersen Windows And Doors, which is considered a very good brand (albeit quite pricey). My Take On This Company: Desert King receives good reviews from consumers. Not necessarily great, but pretty darn solid installation and company reviews. Additionally, they carry some excellent brands and quite a few options. So, yes, get a bid from this company and see how it stacks up against the competition.

The company sells some excellent window brands, including Amerimax, Windsor, Anlin, Simonton, Coeur D' Alene, and Alside. In terms of patio, entry and security doors, Desert King sells Therma Tru and Titan Security Doors.

Desert King Windows Warranty
The Desert King warranty is relatively weak in my opinion. The company installs the windows so the main warranty is going to be through the manufacturer. (See our window warranty page for more on specific manufacturer warranty details.) Desert King is responsible for the labor portion of the warranty. DK states that if the installation is done poorly, then it will cover the cost to repair or replace the windows and/or doors. Manufacturing defects will be covered, however DK will charge for the labor portion of the replacement.
The DK warranty is transferable for up to 10 years of the install date, although the new owner will only be covered for 20 years from the install date. Also, DK must be notified within 30 days of the title transfer.

Desert King Windows Prices
Hi Dane, I’m throwing this out to you with the expectation you may not want to respond. And I understand persons buying thru the link our provide helps keep you working and able to help others. Do you consider maybe a small fee (or contribution) for an opinion based on information someone provides?
I saw your link earlier today before I emailed you but did not want to submit because I didn’t want people constantly hounding me. However, I did submit my info in the link you sent. Anderson and DaBella popped up. DaBella threw out $1,470 to $5,000 per window (just based on # of windows), but then said avg. price per window is $614 to $1,309. It’s rather confusing.
I understand what you’re saying and know it’s only prudent to get at least 3 estimates. But I didn’t want to confuse myself with different products or companies, I get confused with too much information. I don’t like hard-pressure sales persons; just want honest pricing from a good company without having to negotiate or haggle.
I researched window types and dealers in Prescott and landed on Desert King based on their reviews. Watched their videos. One of their reps came out (super nice, informative, patient). Ultimately decided on retro-fitting 19 windows using vinyl Anlin Del Mar windows with a low-e 3 glass. I agreed to convert 3 operating windows to picture windows to reduce costs. The house is on a hillside and gets a lot of wind.
I currently have aluminum windows, the house was built in 1999. Window glass has been replaced several times over the years but now it’s time to replace the windows as there’s tremendous leakage (air in and out), and now windows again with broken seals - and they look awful and don’t function properly.
14 windows (including a 3-pane slider and a 2-pane slider) face due west and the sun is brutal in the summertime. Of the remaining 5, one is a picture, 3 are 5x5 w/arch, the 5th is a small bathroom requiring scaffolding a ladder to reach,
I don’t have a written quote breaking down cost per window at this time but was quoted $36,000+ for the whole house. $20,000+ if I just did the front of the house right now. Included is clean workmanship, finished job clean-up, disposal of old windows, nice warranty.
I read so many articles online claiming installed window replacement costs averaging from $400 to $1900 (high end) per window. Homeblue.com gave range of 25 windows for a 2500 SF home from $9500 to $11,900. I went to other research sites as well and they all said about the same thing. That’s why the $36,000 price threw me.

Renee, Renewal By Andersen and DaBella - those aren't good companies (certainly not for price) so I apologize for that. Some of the zip codes do have very good companies (others not so much). The Anlin Del Mar with retrofit installation is a good option. The windows shouldn't be too bad, but that 3-pane slider and 2-pane slider are going to really increase the cost. (That could be adding 12K to the total price tag) Ask them what the cost would be if you went with the Anlin Catalina series -- that could bring down the price and the Catalina is still a very good vinyl window series.
In Arizona, you might want to get a bid from a Milgard dealer on the Trinsic series (or the Milgard Tuscany series) and see how that compares. Also, a highly rated Simonton installation company would be another option to get a good window at an affordable price tag. This is the direction I'd go from here.

Desert Window Options In Tucson
I've been putting off this project for several years now, but I can wait no longer (I'm worried that this summer is gonna be a scorcher). So my life partner and I live in the Tuscon, Arizona area and we were hoping you might give me some incite as to what I'm looking at with regard to my window replacement home improvement project. This is for our ranch home that has a patio sliding door and 10 windows. Here is what I've got and thank you so much for all of your help
Window World (using Simonton 5500 Windows): $10.1K
Affordable Windows (using Amerimax Craftsman Portrait series): $10.3K
American Vision (using the Anlin Catalina): $10.9K
Desert King Windows (using Andersen 100 Windows): $13.2K

Donna, I would rank those bids like this: 1. American Vision (using the Anlin Catalina), 2. Affordable Windows (using Amerimax Craftsman Portrait series), Window World (using Simonton 5500 Windows), Desert King Windows (using Andersen 100 Windows).
I actually like all of the options here, but the Andersen 100 series is not worth the extra cost. Additionally, I like the Simonton 5500 series, but without knowing how good the Window World branch is in Tuscon, I might be hesitant to go in this direction. First two would be my picks and I would decide which to go with by comparing the online reviews of the two companies who are doing the work.

Window Bid Question
Hi Dane and happy holidays to you and yours. I've been a busy little beaver over the past six weeks and frankly am rather burnt out with collected price quotes for our upcoming project - I can't keep anything straight anymore. The project entails 31 windows and 4 patio sliders for our home near Phoenix, Arizona.
A little bit of background for you: we moved in 3 years ago and don't plan to stay in the home longer than maybe 12 or 15 years but need a solution that is going to stand up to the brutal summer months. Also, we'd like to find something that is durable but also is going to protect us with a quality warranty should something go wrong. So I'll leave it at that and was hoping to get a top three solution set so we can narrow this down and get this puppy going. I appreciate your site (found you by googling Desert King windows reviews) and hope that the rest of your year is filled with joy.

Desert King - Anderson Fibrex 100 Windows (black): $52K

Steven, here are my top three (from best to least best): The Window & Door Store - Anlin Del Mar Windows: $42K,>Greco Roman Windows - Pro Via Endure Windows: $44K, K & J Windows - Milgard Tuscany V400 Windows: $37K. And, by the way, this is taking into consideration both the price point and the windows. I haven't factored in the quality of the window installers so I will leave that up to you! Good luck on your project and you have done your due diligence on those bids.

Anlin In The Desert
Hello, I was looking at getting my windows replaced on my home and was looking at the Anlin Del Mar windows, and have obtained quotes from the only two dealers that carry them in Las Vegas. I live a small distance from Vegas, but was wondering if these prices seemed reasonable to you.
Windows to be replaced: Sliders: Living room 59w x 60h, Dining room 70 wx 60h, Kitchen 70w x 35h, Bed 1 59w x 47h, Bed 2 59w x 47h, Picture Window: Kitchen 41w x 57h
The first installer is Desert King Window, while the second is The Window and Door Store, which was recommended to me. L 59x60 XO 119 - $2,025, D 70x60 XO 130 - $2,166, K 70x35 XO 105 - $2,025, K 71x57 PW 128 - $2,166, B1 59x47 XO 106 - $2,025, and B2 59x47 XO 106 - $2,025. Total $10,151
The Window and Door Store: $8590 - I've also obtained a few quotes for other windows, generally those manufactured by Associated Materials in the Alside and Gentek line, that are around the same price as the TWDS quote (Alside Windows) or are considerably cheaper (gentek, but without install.) Thank you for any insights you can provide.

[Site Editor's Answer]
Taylor, I looked up The Window and Door Store and they get great online reviews. Their price was the best for the Anlin windows, which is the better brand over the AMI or the Gentek. So that's the option I would go with. I do like Gentek Windows as a mid range vinyl window, so that might be my back up if you are only planning to be in the home for say 8 years or less.

Desert King Windows Reviews
Hey there Dane, I have two bids to go, down from six - :) Desert King on their Windsor Pinnacle windows and the Andersen 200 series. Prices are roughly the same - which option do you like better?
Avila - Homeowner - from 2024
[Site Editor's Answer]
Avila, these are pretty close to one another in terms of their overall quality. I'm not sure I can choose one over the other in terms of the windows. If I had to pick, I would give the nod to Andersen over Windsor - better brand name and reputation. More on Windsor Windows reviews.
However, I would turn to the companies doing the install to make my choice - go online and aggregate each company on the different review sites in order to get a composite picture of which one is going to do the better job. This will be the bigger difference maker over these very close windows. Desert King seems to get good reviews fyi.
