Dor Win Manufacturing Intro

Dor Win Manufacturing is a vinyl window and door manufacturer based out of Elmwood Park, New Jersey. The company has been in existence since 1962 and specializes in both stock and custom products. Dor Win tends to market their windows and doors to more budget minded customers. However, this might be a nice option for do it yourselfers who prefer to avoid the big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes. Scroll down to read all of our Dor Win Manufacturing reviews.

Overall Rating: Dor Win Manufacturing gets a 3.7 out of 5 stars based on 1 consumer reviews below.

My Take On This Company: Honestly, this is probably one that I would avoid. They have been around for a long time, but I just don't get the sense that their products are very long lasting. However, I guess I would say that if I were flipping homes, I might consider Dor Win Manufacturing windows and doors. But for the majority of American consumers, there are going to be better vinyl window and patio door options that are going to provide better roi on new windows that you should be pursuing.

DorWin vs MI Windows

Dane, we have had three different builders quotes, one from DorWin and the other two on MI windows series 1500 double hung. Honestly, reviews for either did not look good.

Also, this is our forever house to age into and we like to make sure they hold up. What brands would you recommend for new build that does not break the bank. We have about 15 double hung in the current design along with some smaller transom windows. Thanks. Sent from my iPad.

Holly, I'm not sure either one of these options is the right call for your forever home. Instead, let me send you my recommended list of windows and doors and let's see if we can't find some local options that make sense for your particular situation.

Okna 500 Price Quote

I am gathering bids for my home which need 19 replacement windows. I've gotten four so far, but two didn't make the cut, so this is what I'm left with.

Okna 500 Series: $675 per window

Paradigm 8300: $625 per window

Okna 500DX Series Quote

Dane, wanted to share what bids I got on my New Jersey home for your readers to take a look at and compare. Thanks so much for your advice along the way, huge help, truly.

Dor Win 800 Series: $5.3K
Northeast USA 1000 Windows: $6.3K
Northeast USA 1000 DS Series: $6.6K
United 4800 Windows: $9.1K
United 8000 Series: $9.7K
Okna 500DX: $11.2K

[Site Editor's Answer]

Jim, of the bids you have, the Okna is the best product by quite a bit. However, the price point is so much higher, but when I compare the United to the Okna, the Okna is the better overall value. Honestly, I would probably toss the Do Win bid as that's not a very good window brand and I'd be suspect if that's going to pay off long term for you. I almost hate to admit this, but I think you should collect a few more bids - because I simply don't know enough about Northeast windows to make a call on this bid.
