Moss Supply Company is a vinyl window and patio door manufacturer that hs based in Charlotte North Carolina. The company has been in business since 1954 and sell their products through supply houses and lumber yards in across a number of states in the northeast and south. As a company, Moss is perhaps most similar to say a Tri State Window Factory in that they sell both to contractors and homeowners directly. The key difference is that Moss does not offer any installation services.

Moss Windows And Doors

Moss manufactures and sells three main window lines: the Builder Grade Window, Choice Grade, and Premium Grade series. Each of these are available as either a replacement (no fin) or as a new construction (nailing fin or flange attached). I won't go into detail on all of the series models available on each, but I will say the following. If you do go with Moss Windows, I would stick with their Choice or Premium window series.

Moss Windows Warranty

The Moss windows warranty is about what you would expect from a supply house. The warranty says that the windows (frame and sash) will be free from manufacturing defects for 50 years. It does not include the labor costs to repair or replace. Working parts are covered for 10 years from the manufacture date. Additional manufacturing warranties here.

Homeowners are responsible for the cost of freight and packaging (as well as installation costs). Glass defects are covered for one year. The IGU or insulated glass package is covered for 20 years. This warranty is not transferrable to another homeowner. There are additional exclusions so you should probably read the warranty in full prior to purchase.

Traci, let's start with United, which I consider builder grade windows. Moss are similarly builder grade, although their premium windows are decent. Ply Gem has a better reputation and better windows in general. They are certainly not the best vinyl windows out there, but their Premium series are quite good. To wrap up, I would rank them thusly: Ply Gem, Moss, United.
