This includes the cost of labor to replace window(s). Unfortunately, this warranty is not transferrable to a subsequent homeowner and applies to the original buyer only.

A separate product warranty covers any manufacturing product defects. This one comes from the manufacturer themselves. And because the company reps so many brands, the timelines, provisions, and exclusions will vary by product. SouthGate Glass Window Options

Project Type: Replacement Windows
Location: Sacramento, California
Data Source: 2026 Homeowner Question

SouthGate Glass Window Option Comparison
Window Series Relative Cost Editor Takeaway
Milgard Trinsic Baseline quote Strong value option with clean modern lines and solid energy efficiency numbers
Milgard Ultra Fiberglass Approximately $600 more per installed unit Better long-term choice if this is a forever home and the budget allows
Andersen 100 Series A bit more than Trinsic Good-looking composite option, but not necessarily the best value here

"I have a bunch of bids on replacement windows and was curious to get your cliff notes on a few different windows. We’ve decided to go with a local company called SouthGate Glass that carries a few brands and our neighbors used them years ago and had nothing but great things to say. Southgate suggested either the Trinsic (vinyl) or the Ultra (fiberglass), although the Ultra is about $600 more for each installed unit. They also mentioned they carry the Andersen 100 series, although they didn’t give us a detailed breakdown on price, but indicated it would be a bit more than the Trinsic. Any opinion on our best bet?"

Steve, Homeowner

Editor's Advice:

Steve, I do think it probably depends on how long you plan to stay in your current home. If the answer is forever, then the Ultra fiberglass plus $600 per unit is probably the way to go. And while I do like the look of the Andersen 100 series, I do think the Milgard Trinsic has the better energy efficiency numbers. I happen to really like the modern lines of the Trinsic model and think it’s a great fit for a place like Sacramento California.

Sacramento, California Window Quotes

Project Type: Full Home Replacement Windows And Patio Doors
Location: Sacramento, California
Data Source: 2025 Homeowner Review

SouthGate Glass Milgard Trinsic Project Details
Project Detail Homeowner Reported Cost Editor Takeaway
Milgard Trinsic Series Approximately $13,450 Included 8 windows, 2 patio doors, permits, and installation
Project Scope Full-home window and patio door replacement A relatively broad project with several larger units and two patio doors
Installation Experience Positive homeowner feedback Clean installation with added door casing and trim

"We replaced all the original windows in our 1980s house last summer and went with SouthGate Glass using the Milgard Trinsic series (they offered several others but this fit our budget and goals best). The project included two largish picture windows, two large double-hungs, three medium sliders, one large wide double slider, and two sliding patio doors with a French-style frame. Total replacement windows cost was around $13,450, including all the permits and the cost of window installation."

"Overall, I’m really happy with how everything turned out. The installation was super clean, and they even added a nice door casing and trim, which was a nice bonus."

"We got quotes from a few other companies too, including Northwest Exteriors and River City Windows, before choosing SouthGate. If we hadn’t gone with them, we probably would’ve picked Superior Windows. Kevin (I believe) did the measuring and the bid for Superior, and he was incredibly knowledgeable."

"Pricing was similar across the board, and I had total confidence he would’ve done great work. In the end, Superior just barely lost out due to a few small preferences — and honestly, I really wanted the Trinsic series because of the narrow look while still offering solid performance."

Editor's Advice:

Linda, glad to hear about your experience with SouthGate. I have heard nothing but good things about the company (although I have read some not so great reviews online but that’s nothing new). I will certainly post this on our SouthGate Glass reviews page for other homeowners in the Sacramento area that are looking for recommendations. Cheers.

Southgate Glass Reviews

Hi Dane, I’ve been reading your website for a few months now and am finally ready to pull the trigger. Curious if I could get your list of recommended windows to help my search. We’re outside of Sacramento just fyi and aren't looking to spend huge amounts of money, but we do want to get some good value for our money.

Harry, I am happy to send you my list. FYI, if you’re close to Sacramento, there are some good options out your way. Three options that come to mind include Dicks Rancho Glass, SouthGate Glass and Northwest Exteriors. You may want to start here and see where you get. Additionally, window brands worth pursuing include Anlin and Milgard. These are the two that come to mind. Please let me know if you have any additional questions and I’m happy to help you sort through any window bids that you receive in your search.

Anlin vs Norandex

Hi, we are in the process of looking at a dozen and a half double hung replacement windows that have good sound reduction properties and that are energy efficient. We have identified the Anlin Panorama windows (Southgate) and the Norandex Perfexion Platinum windows (local dealer) as the two best options for us. Can you help us make a decision? Thank you.

[Website Editor Reply]

Franky, the Perfexion Platinum window is a good one, but the Anlin Panorama is a very good window. The Anlin Panorama is the clear winner head-to-head in this scenario.
