SunLite Windows vs Okna

Hi Tim, I got a quote for replacing 11 windows ( 57x43) double hung , vinyl, Okna 500 series windows for about 12k. This seems very excessive to me compared to SunLite which was 10k and Simonton 6500 that is about 9.5k.

Thoughts?? Thanks.

That Okna bid does sound expensive, although the other bids do too. You may want to go a couple more just to round things out. I really like the Oknabrand, but just sort of Luke warm on SunLite and Simonton 6500 series from HD. The Simonton would be my selection up to this point probably.

Thanks Tim. You saved me 2K as I was able to get OKNA window guy lower. But still thinking if I am paying too much. I like their product very much. What do you think is ideal cost for OKNA 500 DX ( 57x43) installed?

Thanks.

A normal sized Okna 500 window with normal installation should run $600 to $750 per window installed.

If you think you aren't getting a fair price, I would suggest getting more bids. If they are all in this range (and like quality products), then you have something in your installation that is bumping up that cost. This is the only real way to tell or find the fair market price on any project.
