This is on the Anlin Panoramic series and includes 10 double hungs and one patio door. Total quote was $18.2K - the door was just under $4K.

The installation cost fyi is $300 each window and they didn't break it down for me on the door.

American Vision Windows Prices

Hi Dane I live in Los Angeles in a condo built in 1979, Wanting to replace 2 sliders and 3 windows which are original. I've gotten quotes from AVW for 3 Anlin Del Mar single slider windows and 2 Malibu Series sliders at $12,303.

Also got a quote for the same 5 replacements with Window World for $8634 without financing and approximately $10,000 with financing. The quote was for the Simonton 5000 series but not sure if the sliders are the same.

Given the price difference I'm wondering if the difference in quality is worth going with Anlin or not. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Slider 1 - 94x79 1/2

Slider 2 - 70x79 1/2

2 windows - 32x47

1 window - 48x11

Both prices include taxes, installation and removal of old windows.

Thanks!

[Site Editor's Answer]

John, I think the price difference is about what I would expect. AVW is often pretty pricey -- but they do do good work. I think the answer here lies in how long you plan to stay in your home. If you plan to stay 10 years or more, then I think the Anlin bid makes sense. Less than 10 years, then I'd highly consider the Window World prices quote.

American Vision Windows Cost

Thank you for your response. I have a quote from AVW for the Anlin Del Mar series - $5,100 for two picture window with sliders at the bottom 96 x 67 and 63 x 67 and from Window World for $4,100 for that same configuration.

Which one is better or what is the difference? or can you suggest a window for the view in San Diego?

Gina - Homeowner - from 2023

[Site Editor's Answer]

Gina, the Anlin Del Mar is the best vinyl series on the west coast — the WW options are not very good quality…I definitely think the AVW option is worth the extra cost in this scenario.

American Vision Windows Prices

Hi Dane, I have narrowed down my selection for home project window replacement (5 patio sliders and 3 windows)

Looking for advice on best option: west la location - 2 miles from beach so no real temperature fluctuation throughout the year.

Window World came in at $14,900 using the Simonton 5000 series

Window design group was $16,262 using their private label version of ALSIDE (associated materials) A176 series, which they say they then upgrade with foam insulation, steel reinforced frames and stainless steel rollers, etc.

American vision windows is $18,900 for Anlin Malibu doors and Del Mar windows.

Jonathon, if you are staying in your home long term, then I would absolutely go with the Anlin Malibu doors and Del Mar windows. If it's shorter term, then the Simonton 5500 series would be my choice here. WW I would pass on. Window World Cost

American Vision Prices

Dear Dane, I just bought a house in Claremont CA, I am diving into the world of windows and realize it is a gigantic one.

I probably have bought a too big of a house, should Have thought before buying, but it has some amazing views. Problem is that I have 55 windows and 7 patio doors!

I have had American vision at home and they quoted 134k.

What would you recommend I quote to get three quotes that you are recommending to do.

Thank you so much for reading my email

Hanne, that is quite a large project. I'd start by collecting as many bids as you can in order to get the whole spectrum of pricing. Unfortunately, I don't find that California has as many quality window options as elsewhere.

American Vision Windows Quote On Anlin Del Mar Windows

Hi Tim, I'm replacing 10 old aluminum windows of various sizes in two bedrooms, two baths and the kitchen. AVW quoted me for 10 Anlin Del Mar single sliders, with Low-E double-panes (lites w/different thicknesses), a couple with tempered glass upgrades, all with exterior color in dark brown/bronze, for $11,070 plus tax, installed. Do you think this is too high?

One of the biggest expenses was the color change. The stock window frame color is white, so if you want something different, they apply your chosen color to the vinyl in an electrical process similar to 'powder-coating'. And only to the frame exterior (the frame interior is left white). Without the color change, the quote was $7,797. Have you heard of this kind of mark-up for something other than white?

Also, I'm replacing a patio door with the same brand/model, and the main reason is for soundproofing as the Del Mar series has an STC rating of 34. I know the Milgard QuietLine series has an STC rating of 45, but they don't make patio doors in this line, only windows. Do you know of brand offering a patio door (sliding or otherwise) with an STC rating ranging from around 43-48? Soundproof Windows Cost

Thanks!

[Website Editor Answers]

Drew, yes it is quite expensive to change the exterior frame color. This is a pretty standard mark up. The quote sounds pretty fair to me. Could you get a better price, perhaps, but on the face of it, it sounds reasonable.

The Milgard Quietline is one of the best soundproofing line out there, but it is quite expensive. I would go back to AVW and ask if you can upgrade the glass package on the Del Mar to get that STC into the 40s. Other options you could look at include Amerimax, Milgard, and Simonton. Each one should be able to offer a glass package with sound deadening advantages. Milgard Window Prices

Good to get these bids as well on the windows to see if the costs are comparable and to see if maybe one of them offers an exterior color that is standard instead of an upgrade. Might save you the 30% upgrade cost.

AVW bid on a sliding glass door for my kitchen. It is 79 inches by 70 inches and the bid is $2284. Is this fair?

AVW Pricing

We live in Phoenix, AZ and had a recent quote from AVW for Anlin Del Mar series for the following Window: we need 2 of each item but price seemed high. Would love your thoughts. Thanks. Anlin Del Mar Window Cost

48x48 inches Price $627 + $77 Low E + $54 for argon and $225 for labor. $983 per window.

24x60 dbl hung $562 + $60 + $44 argon +$225 labor. $890 per window.

sliding doors. 8 ft x 6.8 ft $162 + $308 low E + $126 argon +$ $425 labor

Sanford - Homeowner - from 2016

[Site Editor's Response]

That Anlin quote absolutely seems high, although I think the door cost must have been $1062, right (not $162), plus all of the additional costs. I would suggest getting a couple more bids, look at a local company who sells Amerimax and perhaps Simonton Impressions and Reflections 5500 series, and get bids on these for the project and see how they compare. You might be AMAZED at the variation in prices from one company to the other, I always am!
