Weather Techs vs Apex
Thanks, Dane! We got a third quote today and will get another on Thursday. Here's a recap (all are triple-paned, Argon gas, solar coatings, and built-in screens):
Apex Energy Insignia window: $54,000 with marketing promotion (yard sign, referrals, etc...); solid warranty
Window Universe Signature Elite: $36,000
Window Nation Addison Plus: $132,000 that was quickly lowered with various promotions to $77,444. Warranty seems comparable to Apex's warranty.
American Weather Techs' Preservation Energy Max: will visit on Thursday but gave a rough estimate of $900 to $1,000/window (we have 41 windows although some are larger than others). Any thoughts on relative quality? You expressed concern about installation from Window Universe; any similar concerns with Window Nation or Weather Techs? Thank you!

I think based on your timeline in the home, Window Universe makes the most sense. Or the Preservation Energy Max, which is close in quality to the Insignia vinyl (both made by Alside). Although I might give the American Weather Techs the nod here if the price tag is going to be $41K.
No installation concerns as a general rule of thumb on either one, but I would certainly check the online ratings of those two company branches to make sure your local WN and American Weather Techs get solid reviews.

American Weathertechs Reviews
I've read through your site extensively. The only other leads I had -- which I didn't pursue to the bid level -- are Pella 250 series or 350 through a Lowe's rep and American Weathertechs (Preservation brand and they told me over the phone their middle grade is called Reserve?).
At the time, neither seemed as attractive as the three options I shared with you, but I'm thinking I might pursue American Weathertechs again unless you steer me away from Preservation compared to Alside Mezzo and EnergyWeld windows.

I'm not a big fan of the Pella vinyl series. The Preservation is a decent window, but it tends to be expensive. American Weathertechs looks to also sell Vinylmax, whose Vinylmax Edison window is pretty darn good, especially with the foam filled frame upgrade. The reviews on American Weathertech look pretty darn solid from the very little research I did on them. Definitely worth a look.
