Karoly Windows Reviews Question

Hi Dane, I’m back! Question for you regarding two windows upstairs second floor unit of townhouse. Should the windows be installed using a nail fan? I had two contractors say yes but the one company I may go with - Karoly windows- is telling me that it is not necessary. However, I disagree, especially living in Florida and watching you tube videos to get clarification. Also, I believe the master bedroom upstairs had some issues with water leakage in the past. As always, any advice would be appreciate.

Beth, I will have to defer to the companies looking at the work as to which window installation method is best. However, I will say you are on the right track here - get as many companies in there as possible to give you their professional (and free) opinion. At some point you will have your answer.

If there is water damage, then I would say the full tear out is your best bet. However, and I hate to say this, but timeline in the condo is probably a factor. If you are in there long term and there may be water damage, then absolutely do the full window tear out. If your timeline is less than 10 years, then maybe you take the less expensive way out and do the retrofit install.

Lastly, Karoly Windows and Doors does get good online reviews, so I would think their opinion is worth something. There, have I made the whole thing as confusing as possible? :)
