Landmark Exteriors Warranty Information

When it comes to home improvement projects, there are two distinct consumer warranties. The first is the product warranty, which comes from the manufacturer(s) and covers windows, siding, fascia, roof shingles, doors, etc. Now, the provisions, timelines and exclusions will vary pretty significantly based on the individual product.

The second warranty is the labor warranty, which is provided by the installer - in this case Landmark Exteriors. The company offers a 5 year labor warranty that begins on the date of installation. If there are issues due to manufacturing defects and the company must repair or replace products, then Landmark Exteriors will cover the labor costs. Of course, the company will do an initial assessment to make sure that the work falls under their labor warranty terms.

It’s always important to read the most up-to-date warranty from both the installation company and manufacturer(s) prior to your purchase.

ProVia Triple Pane Cost

Hi Dane, looks like I'm going with Provia Endure through Landmark Exteriors. I have a sunroom that has heating and cooler. It faces the west and 3 sides are exposed to outside. I have 12 windows in that room. I'm doing triple pane (TLA-UV), R value 6 but was wondering if you think its worth it to go to the Krypton gas (TLK-UV) R value 9.

Its room comfort Im looking for out there as its too warm in the summer and cold in the winter and wasnt sure if Krypton would help. Cost to go to the Krypton is $1600 additional which I probably will never make up in dollars but again Im looking for comfort. Thanks for the advice.

Tim, yes the krypton will help with your window energy efficiency. Is it worth $1600, I'm sort of on the fence on this one. If this is your forever home, do it. If not, skip it. I think that's as honest an opinion as I can offer. Generally, I love the Endure series - its one of the best in the business. Just make sure that the installation company you go with has a solid reputation and online reviews.

Landmark Exteriors Reviews

Thought I’d share my experience with Landmark Exteriors. Overall, generally impressed (with some caveats). We obviously went with them after going through the bid process with a few different local companies. We opted for Marvin fiberglass windows which we ordered in May (delivery was delayed until October due to supply chain snafus).

While the installation itself went smoothly, a number of the windows had silicone residue and smudging all over the exterior glass that we were unable to remove. The sales rep returned and attempted to clean the marks - not successfully. To his credit, he worked with Marvin to determine whether the windows can be professionally cleaned or will need to be replaced.

The issue has still gone unresolved and it’s now been four months since the install. In the meantime, I am left with brand-new windows that look worse than the ones they replaced. It’s just kind of annoying since we went with Marvin for the specific. reason that they said they were the best in the business. I’m not so sure.

[Site Editor's Answer]

Orrin, I’ve never heard of residue that you weren’t able to clean off and can imagine it’s very annoying after the bill came due (Marvin windows are expensive, which makes it even more frustrating I’m sure.) Not to excuse anything, but COVID was a tricky time for many manufacturers and the American consumer was the one(s) that got the bad end of the stick in most cases. Let me know how this resolves and I’ll update our Landmark Exteriors reviews page for consumers to ead down the line.
