Smart Window Company Reviews 2026

Smart Window Company is an installation company that is headquartered in Torrance, California. The company has been in business since 1982 and specializes in replacement windows, patio and entry doors. Generally, the company gets excellent reviews online. Scroll down to read all of our Smart Window Company reviews.

Our Verdict: I have to say I’m a bit torn here. On the one hand, the company gets pretty stellar reviews on google. These are pretty tough to fake on the whole, so I’ve gotta believe that their customers are happy. On the other hand, Crystal Windows And Doors are nowhere near at the top of my list of quality products.

While I wouldn’t go so far as to say they are in line with the worst window brands on the market, they aren’t all that far off. Bottom line for me is this: I need to get more reviews on Smart Window Company before I give them the thumbs up or the thumbs down.

Smart Window Company Installation Overview

The company installs Crystal Pacific Windows And Doors, both the Vista and Valencia vinyl window series. Additionally, the company installs TruFrame garden windows. I spelled out my opinion on Crystal Windows And Doors in one of the opening paragraphs on this page so there’s no need for me to do that again. Basically, I haven’t heard of TruFrame and I’m not a big fan of Crystal.

Smart Window Company Warranty

Smart Window Company provides a limited lifetime warranty on their windows and doors that they be free from manufacturing defects. The company covers the labor portion of the work for the original buyer for as long as they own the home (that's pretty impressive and I think one reason why consumers like SMC).

I’m assuming that the warranty is non transferrable since they don’t cover this (I’ve been reading warranties for long enough to know that if they don’t say it specifically, it probably isn’t covered.) All in all, a pretty fair warranty I would say.

Smart Window Company Price Quote vs Milgard Windows

Project Type: 28 replacement windows and 2 patio sliders
Location: Southern California
Data Source: 2026 Homeowner Quote Comparison

Southern California Window And Patio Door Quote Comparison
Window Series Total Quote Installed Average Installed Cost
Milgard Tuscany Series $32,000 $1,067
Renewal by Andersen $85,000 $2,833
Smart Window Company $30,800 $1,027
Pella 150 Series $36,000 $1,200

"We have 28 windows and two patio sliders that need to be replaced in our Southern California home. Following your advice, we've collected several bids and would love to get your take on them.

Here are the quotes we've received so far:

Milgard Tuscany Series: $32,000
Renewal by Andersen: $85,000
Smart Window Company: $30,800
Pella 150 Series (Lowe's): $36,000

The Renewal by Andersen quote was actually the first estimate we received, and I nearly fell out of my chair when they gave us the number. Thankfully, the later bids helped put things into perspective.

Looking at these four options, which one would you consider the best overall value?"
Tracy, Homeowner - from 2026

Editor's Advice:

Tracy, for me this is an easy call. The Milgard Tuscany quote would be my pick of the four. The Tuscany isn't the most advanced vinyl window on the market, but it's a proven product, well suited to Southern California, and the pricing looks very reasonable for a project of this size.

The Smart Window Company bid is certainly attractive from a cost standpoint, but based on the information you've provided, the Milgard Tuscany strikes the best balance between product quality, long-term value, and overall price.

"Hey Dane, we plan to build in a year and are getting the land ready and working with the architect for the house plan. We are having a hard time landing on a mid price quality single hung window. I hope your list will help. And when we are closer to the build I will be sure to get some quotes from your site. We plan to get bids from all of the Southern California window companies. These include Smart Window, CDW, Anlin, Amerimax - but would still love to see what you recommend."

"Hey there, I’m in Southern California. Please email a list of good, great and “avoid” window companies. Here we have Value (Anytime Windows), elite, United Windows, Crystal Pacific (Smart Window Company), big box stores, etc. how do you sort it all out. Also which fiberglass ones should I consider if I wanted to spend just a little more? I think I’m priced out as of now."
Pat, Homeowner - from 2025

Editor's Advice:

Pat, here are my California recommendations. Not my best list -- oddly California doesn't have as many good selections as I'd like. Fiberglass is going to be very pricey, but my goto brands are Alpen, Marvin, Inline, and Milgard -- the Marvin and Milgard will be available from some local dealer. The Smart Window Company gets good reviews, although I'm not excited about Crystal Pacific. United Windows are decent I suppose.

Smart Window Company Reviews

Project Type: 17 replacement windows
Location: Los Angeles, California
Data Source: 2024 Homeowner Question

Window Series Total Quote Installed Average Installed Cost
Anlin Del Mar Series Not provided Not provided
Homeowner Offer $16,000 $941

"Hello Dane, my name is Albert and I came across your web site as I was looking into Anlin Del Mar series window prices. I love all your feed back and advice and opinions you are telling everybody. it really helps. We live in the Los Angeles area in a tri-level townhouse.

We want to replace all of our 17 windows at our place. Therefore, we got a few quotes from different places including Smart Window Company. After doing some homework, we realized that the fromt runner which offered Milgard windows are not that great of windows anymore with warranty and workmanship according to yelp reviews and else where.

So doing even more research we found out that Anlin windows are the ones we think we would consider for our place. Also, I am attaching a quote and a promotion deal that they offered to us from American Vision windows, not many window company in our area sell and install the Anlin Del Mar series, but I would consider reaching out to one or two others if you know any.

Also I offferd $16,000 for the whole job, but they didn’t budge. I figured looking at that promotion that they could do whatever they want, like waive the tax waive the labor and still give the 25% off of the windows. So, do you think they are gouging on the window prices, please let me know what you think on all of this."
Albert, Homeowner - from 2024

Editor's Advice:

Albert, American Vision windows is one of the largest Anlin dealers in the state and they have a good reputation - the net result is higher than I'd like to see prices. But its a free market so there isn't much you can do about it. Although, call up Anlin directly and ask them if there is another dealer who handles your area. It is possible that they won't carry the Del Mar, but might carry the Catalina and Panorama, also very good. Amerimax is a solid manufacturer and they might have a local company who handles your area.

Have you looked at our Smart Window Company reviews page - I would start here to get a sense of what I think of their windows. :) Alternatively, their reviews are great. Those are my thoughts thus far...
