My Take On This Company: I have to say I’m a bit torn here. On the one hand, the company gets pretty stellar reviews on google. These are pretty tough to fake on the whole, so I’ve gotta believe that their customers are happy. On the other hand, Crystal Windows And Doors are nowhere near at the top of my list of quality products. While I wouldn’t go so far as to say they are in line with the worst window brands on the market, they aren’t all that far off. Bottom line for me is this: I need to get more reviews on Smart Window Company before I give them the thumbs up or the thumbs down.

What They Sell

The company installs Crystal Pacific Windows And Doors, both the Vista and Valencia vinyl window series. Additionally, the company installs TruFrame garden windows. I spelled out my opinion on Crystal Windows And Doors in one of the opening paragraphs on this page so there’s no need for me to do that again. Basically, I haven’t heard of TruFrame and I’m not a big fan of Crystal.

Smart Window Company Warranty

Smart Window Company provides a limited lifetime warranty on their windows and doors that they be free from manufacturing defects. The company covers the labor portion of the work for the original buyer for as long as they own the home (that's pretty impressive and I think one reason why consumers like SMC). I’m assuming that the warranty is non transferrable since they don’t cover this (I’ve been reading warranties for long enough to know that if they don’t say it specifically, it probably isn’t covered.) All in all, a pretty fair warranty I would say.

Replacement Window Quotes

Hey there, I’m in Southern California. Please email a list of good, great and “avoid” window companies. Here we have Value (Anytime Windows), elite, United Windows, Crystal Pacific (Smart Window Company), big box stores, etc. how do you sort it all out. Also which fiberglass ones should I consider if I wanted to spend just a little more? I think I’m priced out as of now.

Pat, here are my California recommendations. Not my best list -- oddly California doesn't have as many good selections as I'd like. Fiberglass is going to be very pricey, but my goto brands are Alpen, Marvin, Inline, and Milgard -- the Marvin and Milgard will be available from some local dealer. The Smart Window Company gets good reviews, although I'm not excited about Crystal Pacific. United Windows are decent I suppose.

Smart Window Company Reviews

Hello Dane, my name is Albert and I came across your web site as I was looking into Anlin Del Mar series window prices. I love all your feed back and advice and opinions you are telling everybody. it really helps. We live in the Los Angeles area in a tri-level townhouse.

We want to replace all of our 17 windows at our place. Therefore, we got a few quotes from different places including Smart Window Company. After doing some homework, we realized that the fromt runner which offered Milgard windows are not that great of windows anymore with warranty and workmanship according to yelp reviews and else where.

So doing even more research we found out that Anlin windows are the ones we think we would consider for our place. Also, I am attaching a quote and a promotion deal that they offered to us from American Vision windows, not many window company in our area sell and install the Anlin Del Mar series, but I would consider reaching out to one or two others if you know any.

Also I offferd $16,000 for the whole job, but they didn’t budge. I figured looking at that promotion that they could do whatever they want, like waive the tax waive the labor and still give the 25% off of the windows. So, do you think they are gouging on the window prices, please let me know what you think on all of this.

Albert, American Vision windows is one of the largest Anlin dealers in the state and they have a good reputation - the net result is higher than I'd like to see prices. But its a free market so there isn't much you can do about it. Although, call up Anlin directly and ask them if there is another dealer who handles your area. It is possible that they won't carry the Del Mar, but might carry the Catalina and Panorama, also very good. Amerimax is a solid manufacturer and they might have a local company who handles your area. Have you looked at our Smart Window Company reviews page - I would start here to get a sense of what I think of their windows. :) Alternatively, their reviews are great. Those are my thoughts thus far...
