Company Information And ProductsFirst things first, Southwest Exteriors is NOT a manufacturer of windows and doors. Instead, SWE is an installation and home improvement company that carries and installs a number of reputable window brands. These include Infinity From Marvin, Vistamark, ProVia, Don Young, and Anlin. Each of these brands (with the possible exception of Vistamark) are considered quality options that should serve you well when combined with professional installation.

Vistamark vs Don YoungHello Dane, we live in San Antonio and need to replace 9 old single-pane windows with energy efficient ones. Southwest Exteriors gave us a bid on Vistamark Endura windows that came in at $7,020. Seems high, right, especially if the Vistamark is their low end vinyl window (you indicate that in your write up, but maybe I'm wrong???) They also offered us a Don Young aluminum window, but I'm not sure that's what I want.
[Site Editor's Answer]Zarrah, I can't say for certain whether the $7.2K is too much for Vistamark windows or not. It's nearly impossible to judge a single bid - but if you had three other bids to compare it with, then I could give you an opinion based on the comparison prices. On the face of it, yes, it does seem high for the Vistamark Endura.
Don Young makes an excellent aluminum window and I say it's a toss up whether you want to go with vinyl or aluminum windows in San Antonio. Aluminum holds up very well in the heat, but it is not very energy efficient.
