What They Sell And Install

Hegg Windows sells and installs two main window and door brands, which include ProVia Windows And Doors and Marvin. The company is a Platinum ProVia dealer and a certified Marvin installer. In terms of vinyl windows and patio doors, ProVia is one of the best in the business. Additionally, Marvin Windows and Doors make some of the best fiberglass windows and doors (Elevate and Essential) that money can buy. Marvin also makes a great wood window in the Ultimate Series. Very solid options all the way around.

Hegg Warranty Information

Hegg offers a 100 year labor warranty to all of their customers. This means that if there are any manufacturing defects for as long as you own your windows and doors, Hegg will repair or replace them free of charge. However, it's not clear to me whether the warranty is transferable to a subsequent owner. Generally, this is a very good labor warranty though.

As always, there is a separate warranty on the actual windows and doors (provided by the manufacturers) that are warranted against product defects. If there are manufacturing defects, Hegg will arrange to either replace or repair the windows after doing an on-site inspection.

Are Hegg Windows Good Quality?

Quick question for you - what are your thoughts on Hegg Windows And Doors? I saw some online complaints in a reddit thread, but then when I read them, they seemed petty, but I wasn't sure. Confused about who to go with and I don't want to make a mistake (I'll never hear the end of it from my better half if you know what I'm saying). Anyway, you seem like an honest broker and I'd love to get some real feedback.

Jack, thanks for the kind words and yes I do try to steer people in the right direction. Absolutely, get a bid from Hegg. They seem to be a good company from what I know of them. However, you want to get multiple bids from local companies so you can make an honest comparison of the companies, their products, and their prices. I'll send you my list and you can see what brands have local companies in the greater Columbus area. Collect your bids, send me the summaries, and then I'll help you find the best window at the best price from the best company.

The bottom line is this - it's a process, but one that will save you money longterm so let's do it the right way once and then hopefully not have to worry about it for 40 plus years.

Columbus Ohio Replacement Windows

So we’re here in the Columbus, Ohio area and are shopping around for eight double hung windows. So far, we’ve gotten two quotes and would love to hear your comments or thoughts. One quote came from Hegg Windows on the ProVia Endure double-pane windows with full screens, and that came in around $5,300. The other was from Rosati for a similar setup, at about $6,500.

My first question is whether you’ve heard anything good or bad about Rosati Windows, especially when it comes to their windows. Their install and customer service reviews seem really solid, and the same goes for Hegg. Do those prices seem a little high to you? They definitely did to us, but then agains everything does these days. ") And does Zen typically offer a better product than the ProVia Endure line? We were debating whether it was worth reaching out to Zen again to see if they’d respond.

Funny enough, right after we emailed you about the ProVia and Rosati quotes, Zen got back to us. Zen Windows in New Albany quoted us $5,160 for their Nirvana line.

So just to recap: Rosati was $6,500, ProVia Endure was $6,300, and Zen came in at $5,160.

At this point, I’m just trying to figure out which option is the best quality overall. I know Zen carries Soft-Lite, Alside, and
Joyce windows, and that they rebrand them (is that the proper term?). If that’s the case, how do you actually know which manufacturer you’re getting? What’s stopping them from saying it’s Soft-Lite when it’s really Alside? Is there any way to tell for sure?

Hillary, thus far you have three quality bids in my opinion. The one I would put in last place is Rosati Windows and this is why. They make their own windows, which are certainly decent, but they aren't going to be able to compete with either the ProVia Endure window or the Zen Nirvana (which you are correct does change based on the brand that the Zen branch is selling.) However, the Nirvana is almost always either the Joyce Heritage or the Soft-Lite Classic and both of these are going to be better in quality and craftsmanship over the Rosati vinyl window option.

So now we are down to two, Hegg Windows vs Zen. Generally, I might put these two companies on par with one another. However, Zen has a number of branches so it's going to be very important to look up the online reviews for your specific Zen Windows branch. From what you said, I'm leaning toward Hegg Windows And Doors because the ProVia Endure is the better window over the Soft-Lite Classic (which is the most likely the window that Zen is selling, but please call and double check this).

Also, if you are thinking of staying in your current home for under ten years, then go with the Zen and save yourself the $1200. Your return on investment with new windows takes 12 to 15 years to make it worth it (ballpark figure).
