Majic Windows Lawsuit

No class action lawsuits here and very little in terms of consumer lawsuits filed. However, the company has incurred consumer complaints (as is the case with most window companies). Lawsuits And Legal Issues
If you google Majic Windows Lawsuit a few little complaints come up, but nothing much as far as I can tell. There was a suit filed by Kathé Johnson back in 2009. I want to say the case was settled out of court - at least this is my interpretation of the law (I'm no lawyer so all the legalese is a bit confusing). The case never went to court, so there are two possibilities. One, the case was tossed. Two, the case was settled out of court. Either way, it doesn't sound like there was much here.
Another small legal issue occurred back in 2006 between Majic vs Milgard, but I'm less concerned with two window companies going at it. I'm much more concerned about window companies short changing or defrauding American consumers. Again, the legalese in this case is pretty esoteric and doesn't seem to be relevant to the end customer.
Majic Windows Complaints
Received a bid from Magic (sp) here in Michigan and thought the pricing quote was bonkers. So, I'm thinking I might just do it myself. On your site you often refer to windows that require professional installation. Agains, I hope to do this myself (I've done my previous 2 houses as full frame myself with Anderson Windows (must have been 400's). Therefore, which of these will actually let me get just the windows?

KC, DIY is a bit of a crap shoot as to which companies will sell you the windows themselves. Often times, the big box stores like Home Depot are going to be your best and easiest bet. The Simonton 6500 and Andersen 100 series are both solid options in my opinion.
