Bay Area Window Pros Reviews

I am in Northern California and frankly speaking, the pricing on windows is outrageous down here! Around 2019 or so, I received quotes for Anlin windows that were around $11-$12k. Now, a set of 12 retrofit windows and 2 retrofit sliding doors is almost $19k (at least I was able to negotiate the Anlin Sound Package upgrade, Sunmatrix upgrade, and better screens to be included).

I tried going to the Anlin Gold Del Mar dealers and they all used hard hitting salesmanship along with aggressive sales tactics to promote their Del Mar series at inflated prices ($25k - $30k+). So for the Catalina slim frame windows and the Malibu sliding doors at almost $19k, are there any other good quality options that I should consider?

I have done some research and/or got some bids on Milgard, Window World, Value, Premium, CDW, Sivan, Solar Industries and a few others. Milgard is around the same price without all the upgrades. I was able to get some of the lower quality windows, with bids from less reputable resellers coming in around $12k-$14k.

Are there any other brands I should be considering that are similar in quality to Anlin but maybe a better price level? Or if I drop in price, then I will drop down in quality as well? It is for my own home and we intend to stay in the house for the next 20 years, plus or minus. Any suggestions, ideas or such? Thanks in advance!

Steve, yes, prices have really jumped since 2019. And, yes, Anlin Windows is the best and is often quoted out at very high price points. (I wish there was another really good option in No Cal to provide some more competition to Anlin, but I’ll bet it would just get bid out super high as well).

The Milgard Trinsic is the other window that I really like, but I would probably still go with the Catalina over the Trinsic all other things being equal. A high end Simonton window like the 5500 Reflections series is the other option that comes to mind. Simonton is somewhat plain (and a bit bulky), but it is a well built window series.

If anything else comes to mind, I’ll drop you a line and feel free to send me any additional bids you receive and I’ll try and weigh in.
