Landmark Windows And Doors

The company installs a number of window and door brands. These include Milgard, Sunrise Windows, AMCO, and Infinity by Marvin. Generally, these are considered good window brands.

Landmark Window Warranty

Landmark W&D offers a pretty standard limited lifetime warranty that covers any defects in manufacturing and/or labor. The website is pretty lean on details, although they do claim to have a link to the actual warranty pdf (however the link wasn't there when I visited the site). So, I'm guessing that the company offers the original owner a lifetime labor warranty on any product defects. Also, I'm guessing that the labor cost warranty is non transferrable. I could certainly be wrong, but this is my best guess. However, I will update if I receive any additional information on the Landmark Windows warranty.

Northern Virginia Replacement Windows

Dane, I'm sending you information on my window/slider door project along with the bids I received so you have the information for your reference. My project is in northern Virginia and involves 45 double-hung windows with internal grids, 1 large picture window with internal grids, 1 half-moon window with internal grids, and 3 six-foot sliders without grids. Here is info on the bids I received:

Power Home Remodeling. Use their own series of Pella windows. High pressure same day price of $69K (otherwise $86K). I told them to pound sand based on their business practice, not their product.
Curb Appeal Exteriors. 600 series ProVia Endure windows (DLA-UV-HC) and doors. $52K but took almost a week to get the quote.
Nation's Choice Windows. 600-series ProVia Endure windows and doors. $70k and then reduced to $58K a week later (after I picked a different company).
Windows on Washington. Okna 500 Series window and 8800 doors. $63K or $69K (based on type of installation - hard to tell which corresponded to how the companies install the windows).
Landmark Windows and Doors. ProVia Endure (DLA-UV-HC) and their own high-end sliders. $67K.

We ended up going with Landmark because they had the most comprehensive installation plan, and they warrant the windows/doors and installation themselves for the lifetime of the home (fully transferrable). None of the companies spent a lot of time discussing installation the way Landmark did, so that impressed us.

Curb Appeal Exteriors put together a really nice package of documents using the CAD software they use in their other remodeling work, but I'm skeptical about how cheap they dropped their price to for the same ProVia windows. All include capping the outside. Landmark is going to do some 2nd story calking of other large windows we have that need it.

Mike, I really hate second guessing a decision once it's been made. You bought a fantastic window and it sounds like the company Landmark is a quality outfit that stands solidly behind their work. I think you take pride in both of these facts - the majority of U.S. households buy subpar windows that end up costing them more money over the decades than if they had simply purchased a great vinyl window at a fair price. Congrats on a very good purchase!
