What The Company Sell

Currently, I'm unable to get any information on what they install. Their website is pretty uninformative when it comes to what they actually are putting into their customer's homes. I have to say that I really dislike when companies aren't very forthcoming about what they are selling to their customers. If they are installing known brands, tell us.

And, conversely, if they are selling their own windows (which is the information that I have), then tell us about the window and provide some energy efficiency windows data as well. I would think that consumers would what to know that a company thinks their windows and patio doors are fantastic and list (in detail) why that is.

Armorvue Windows Warranty

The company offers a decent limited lifetime warranty on its windows and doors installation services. The original buyer is covered for their lifetime against manufacturing defects on their new windows and doors. What isn’t spelled out is whether Armorvue handles the replacement or repair labor cost to install new windows. (I will update this when I suss this out.)

The warranty is transferrable for one year from the installation date to a new owner, which is pretty weak. However, it does allow the company to claim that they offer a transferrable warranty. All in all, an okay (but nowhere near great) warranty.

Generally, I tend not to put too much stock in warranties. Cynical — yes I am.

ArmorVue Windows And Doors Project Report

We had our windows and patio doors done through ArmorVue and I loved how they worked. We had 16 windows and 3 doors, plus they reconfigured several of the front windows and increased the width of one of our side sliding doors. Luckily, we were able to take advantage of My Safe Florida Home program, which definitely helped lessen the bite of what we spent.

ArmorVue was in the same price range as the two other companies that we got bids from (I forget who it was right now.) After the Florida state grant money, it came out to $29,435 all in. They did a great job and were a pleasure to work with. Basically, a big thumbs up from me. Now, let's see how long everything lasts - insert wink emoji, haha. I'll keep you posted about my progress and/or problems, but thanks again.

Anyway, I appreciate your thorough reply and help through this process. Clearly, it is a project in and of itself, but something I have to do, as I have a dozen windows to replace in one house and almost 40 in another. Btw, years ago (20+) I installed ~50 windows in my primary residence from Alside Windows, because they had an option for a wood look inside. They are still standing, although some do not stay up when opened. They do not seem to make it to your list :).

Armorvue Windows vs Window World

Hi Dane, we are going through the spin cycle of the replacement window market and have received two bids thus far that I would like to get your expert advice on if you would be so kind. Many thanks. This is on 18 impact windows and 2 patio door sliders and the following is what we've gotten so far -- love to get your hard take on them if possible. I rounded them all to the thousand to keep things nice and simple.

Armorvue Windows And Doors (their own windows): $43K
Window World Prices (Wincore 8800 series): $27K
Custom Window Systems Pricing: $62K

Josh - Homeowner - from 2025

Website Editor's Answer

Josh, that’s a huge difference in cost for sure. So this is what I would say — the Wincore 8800 series is a good quality impact window. Not the top performer but a quality buy I would say. Window World branches are franchised so there can be quite a big difference between individual branches. So absolutely take some time and make sure that the WW bracnch you are using has good to great reviews. Assuming you do, this is going to offer much more value than the ArmorVue option.

Additionally, if the Window World quotes is on the Wincore 8800 impact window AND your local WW branch has good reviews, then this would be my pick. If not then I suppose you have to consider the CWS windows prices quote, but that's quite a high ticket when compared to the other options on the board. I might want to see an additional bid or two as comparison to these three. I know -- it's a tough process.

Tampa Replacement Windows

Hi! I have been researching window replacement for several months. After dealing with several window companies, and getting the runaround from "who is the decision maker" and "what is your husband's name", I am pretty much exhausted and over gathering proposals Below are the proposals, and I would greatly appreciate any feedback, from a man's perspective :)

Context - requested estimate for 3 impact windows (2 windows upstairs, 1 downstairs) 51.75 x 61.75 - for a 1500 sq ft townhouse in Tampa, FL (33624) Not in a flood zone. Impact windows are NOT mandatory (I read the county codes) but every company is telling me that it's a requirement.

Armorvue - window estimate started at $16,757 but then dwindled to $8379, with all the discounts they offer. I kicked him out of my house.

Karoly Windows - 3 Simonton Stormbreaker Plus - low E glass - argon filled - white vinyl - grids - $6100.

STH - 3 CWS 8000 series white vinyl - clear impact - low E - grids - stucco repair - $5700 (they reviewed the Karoly quote, and to earn my business offered this deal). major redflag = install warranty 1 year!

Mr. Window - 3 Viwinco ocean view - white vinyl impact, lifetime installation warranty and manufacturer's 20+. quote $8027. I showed him the STH quote for $5700 and he said it was a great deal. I asked if they price matched - no. He called owner - owner said no. Sales rep stated they are trying to get into the Tampa market as they are Sarasota based. I explained to him that he cannot offer the same pricing to someone in Tampa as he does with a homeowner on the beach with a million dollar beach house. We parted ways. 10 minutes later, the sales rep is back at my door saying the owner will price match the $5700!

In conclusion, cost and warranty wise, it makes sense to go with Mister Window but I wanted to get your opinion, especially on the types of .window types.

Beth - Homeowner - from 2025

[Site Editor's Answer]

Beth, I like all three options - the Simonton, Viwinco and CWS windows price. Generally, all three are quality builds and pretty comparable. Therefore, I would make the decision based on the company that is going to do the best install. Mr. Window gets excellent reviews so I think this is a great option and can endorse this decision.

However, let me say, I’m not too worried about the 1 year labor warranty. If something is going to go wrong, it almost always happens during the first 6 months (which is why I never know why all the companies don’t just offer a 5 year labor warranty).

Armorvue Window & Door Reviews

So I'm looking for hurricane windows - specifically three windows, all sized around 62 by 52 in Florida. Here is what we have: ArmorVue $8.4K, Viwinco Oceanview $8.1K, Simonton Stormbreaker $6.1K.

Jay - Homeowner - from 2025

Website Editor's Answer

Jay, of the three bids you currently have I would say that the Simonton Stormbreaker is the way to go. Honestly, I like all three options, but for the price you're going to pay, the Armorvue and Viwinco offer a worse overall value. Please take a look at our Armorvue Window & Door reviews page for any additional questions you might have on the company. I will include the link to the page.
