Unfortunately, I was unable to find any credible information on the company’s labor warranty. Consumers are covered by the manufacturers themselves in terms of the product and any manufacturing defects. Dane, I would love to get your opinion on the following bids.

First, Lion Windows - 17 Windows x 1 Sliding door - Milgard Trinsic V300 $18,585.42 including tax

Second, Smart Windows - 14 Windows x 1 Sliding door - VISTA PLUS AND SMART VALENCIA WINDOWS $13099.68
(This bid is missing 1 window for our 2nd bathroom and 2 windows for our 3rd bedroom)

Third, Window World - 12 Windows x 1 Sliding - 5000 Simonton Series $19,310.20
(This bid converts 8 single hung into 4 end vent slider windows. Bid missing a single hung needed for our 2nd bedroom)

Lastly, Frontier Windows 14 Windows x 1 Sliding Door - Milgard Trinsic V300 $14,443.98

Laurie, I think the best value of these windows is the Milgard Trinsic series. The Crystal Pacific Vista window option is just not the quality that offers long term value. The Window World bid doesn't make sense financially. So we are left with the two Milgard bids. It appears that the bids are very close price wise if you factor in 17 windows and 1 sliding door (but I might be wrong on this, I wasn't sure if the Lion bid converted the single hungs or not).

If this were my project, I would make the decision based on the online reviews and reputation of the two competing companies. This will be the difference maker as the windows themselves are the exact same. If the Frontier window bid is indeed $4K less, then I would give this one the distinct "advantage" but the installation is important so that would be a big factor for me.

Aggregate the reviews of both over several review sites and I think this gives you the overall "score" of what you can expect from each one...
