Windows And Brands
The Window Man carries and installs a number of reputable brands, including ProVia, Mon Ray storm windows, Marvin fiberglass windows, and Devac aluminum windows.
Warranty Information
From what I was able to tell, the company offers a five year labor warranty on all of their windows and door installs. Generally, this is an impressive labor warranty term that essentially means the company will cover the labor cost to install windows and doors (or replace or repair) in the first five years from the date of installation. The products themselves are covered under the manufacturers warranty, so you will need to read these to understand what is and isn’t covered. Luckily, our page on replacement window warranties covers the basics of many of the most popular window brands and companies.

The Window Man Reviews
We are located in Virginia and our home is approximately 20 years old. We have 21 original builder grades we are looking to replace. So far, we have received 3 quotes and in looking for reviews, I found your site. Any advice on these would be helpful. Mainly, we are considering if triple pane is worth the price increase.
I also find it odd that none of these companies say explicitly what manufacturer they are using. Online, I found that Window World is using Alside. Also, Apex is also (even though they act like Insignia is so special). And I don't know about the Window Man Inc. is using. (I asked but haven't received a reply yet), but I'm attaching their included specs below.
All prices are for 21 double hungs with grids.
WW: 4000 series double pane $17,561 (triple pane $19,461).
Apex Triple pane Insignia: $24,103.
Window Man Inc. (local company) "Silver" double pane $18,372 ("Platinum" triple pane $21,682).
Right now, I'm leaning toward the Window Man bc it is a local company whose installers actually work for the company and are not subcontractors, but it's hard to know without knowing the brand they are actually selling. Any other window brands I should be checking out?

Kristin, so I really can't recommend using WW as they tend to use a sub par option in my opinion. And you are correct that Apex uses an Alside 8000 window with some upgrades. Specifcally, it is called their Insignia. Generally, not a bad window at all to be honest. The $1K plus quote is pretty high though for that window.
the Window Man probably uses a Norandex / Simonton based on the Silver and Platinum designations, but I can't say for sure. You are also correct that dealers are cagey about what they sell. As an aside, can you imagine buying a car but they didn't tell you what brand and model you were actually buying??? I boggles the mind.
Window Universe in Indianapolis gets good reviews and they use the Gentek Signature Elite that is on par with a Simonton 5500. All in all, a good mid range option.
Two options you might want to check out include Amos Exteriors and Mr. Window Company -- they sell Soft-Lite and Okna windows respectively. These two brands are better than anything on the board so far. If the bids came in at a price point that was similar, then it would be a no brainer for me.
