Alliance Window Systems is an interesting structure in the window and door space. Effectively, this is a group of smaller, independent manufacturers that “unite” to leverage their buying power and better compete in pricing against larger manufacturers like Simonton and Pella window. Alliance windows produces three main window options, which include their premium Hawthorne series, their new construction Windgate series, and their base vinyl window in the Belmont series. My Take: Alliance makes a solid window in both the Hawthorne and Windgate series. The Belmont is a pass for me. In terms of installation quality, this is going to depend on the local, individual company that's in your local area. So make sure to check reviews before going with an AWS member.

Alliance Window Warranty
Alliance windows offer their Assurance Plus warranty on their three main window series (the Windgate, Belmont and Hawthorne). The Assurance Plus covers the original owner for their lifetime against manufacturing defects on all parts of the window (unfortunately not accidental glass breakage).
Additionally, it covers the cost of labor for five years from the date of purchase. Finally, the warranty may be transferred to another homeowner for up to 20 years from purchase date (the second howeowner is essentially covered for 20 years only from purchase date).

How Does Alliance Compare?
How would you say Alliance window prices compare to other window companies out there? We have a bid from Midway Windows in Chicago and they get good reviews and they seemed fairly well priced. Not cheap mind you, but fair from what I can tell. Is this the price that I should expect from my other bids? Thanks in advance.

Michelle, Midway and Alliance are toward the top of the mid range price point as a general rule of thumb. However, I would absolutely collect more bids because it's so hard to say what other companies will charge. There are huge discrepancies between company bids so the more you get, the better baseline you will have for the fair market price on your project quote.

Replacement Window Comparisons
Hey there Dane, love the site and all of the care and hard work that went into it. So we have 22 windows to replace with white vinyl double hung windows that require full frame installation, which is obviously more expensive. We've collected a number of window bids that I would love to get your opinion on if you have a minute. I rounded all of the prices down to the nearest hundred to keep it simple. Also, how do triple pane windows compare to double pane in terms of price and energy efficiency?

Johnny, I will list these in order from best to worst in terms of overall value - so that is price and quality taken together. Additionally, this is assuming that the installation work is all good and is equal in quality. Okay, so here goes - Provia Endure, Vinylmax Newton, Alliance Hawthorne, Okna 800, and the Pella 250 window. The Okna 800 series is the best of these windows, but it is also the most expensive by alot. If this is your forever home, then I might consider Okna 800 as it is the best vinyl window on the market in my opinion.

Alliance Window Systems vs Simonton
Good afternoon to you and thanks for your great info. We partner and I are trying to choose between three different window brands for our house. Specifically, we have 6 XO sliding windows and 1 bathroom window single hung. We live here in the the St Louis Missouri area and would love to get your take on these or any recommendations. We really appreciate your time and effort with this.

Ray, my pick would be the Soft Lite Classic Plus, but not at that price point. I would probably do the Windgate with that $3K difference over the Simonton 6100 series. I just think there is way more value in that route over the Simonton option.

Alliance Windows Cost On The Belmont
Hi Dane, looking to replace 11 vinyl double hungs, half screens, all white, with grids. Most of them are roughly 35 ¾ x 58 ½. Love your thoughts on these bids, which includes the installation.

Bay Window Cost
Spoke with someone at ABC Supply, who told me that the ProVia bay window was inferior to the quality and cost of the Alliance version. He didn't tell me how much the Alliance would be, but the ProVia bay with a casement picture casement would be $3400.

Nick, I would think that the ProVia would be the much better option over the Alliance version and significantly more expensive. I've nevre heard anyone say that Alliance was the better brand over Provia. It's very interesting.

My project is for 6 replacements. I've had an estimate for Anderson windows @ 16500.00 from a company in Waunakee WI. I am in the process of getting an estimate from a contractor who uses Alliance and / or Vector. I know Anderson is a good window. What are your thoughts on the other 2?

Dane and Tim, I need 23 windows and have three bids thus far.
First Quote: $18,960 on the Sunrise standard window line.
Second Quote: $19,335 Alside Mezzo series cost with triple-pane.
$17335 for the Alside Mezzo Windows with a double pane.
Third Quote: $15,660 on the Alliance Windows Hawthorne model.

Tiff, I like the Great Lakes Comfort Smart Window option here. Second up would be the Revere Berkshire Elite Window with the triple pane glass. Both of these would make excellent options in my opinion as long as the company doing the work has a good online reputation and reviews.
